My Perfect Credit, BEWARE, Scam, DO NOT PAY, Rip Off Costa Mesa California

I thought somethings was fishy when I got a call from 1st Credit of America. They are a collection agency, who collect for My Perfect Credit, Inc.

They told me that my account (what account I thought), had been turned over to them from Myfirstcredit.com. A service I've never used. I told them, that there must be some confusion since I've never used this service and I don't know how they got my information. He told me that he's heard that story before and that basically I was lying and for a mere $59.95 + his $5.00 service charge I could make it all go away. I basically told him that he could go away and that I had no intention of paying this.

Just a note... it is illegal for a ocmpany to send you to collections without them trying to notify you first of an outstanding balance. I was never contacted by phone, or by mail or even by e-mail.

He was less than helpful. He told me that he would mark my down my refusal to pay and that it would go on my permanent record. He then told me to contact My Pefect Credit, Inc. and try to work it out with them. I called both numbers that I could locate. One was constantly busy the other just rang without anyone answering. I e-mailed them and they sent me back a computer generated response telling me that my account had been turned over to collections and that if I needed futher assistance I could contact them. Which as we all know is NO HELP.

All I can say is, this is a scam. I filed a report with the BBB and I wasn't surprised to see many other reports and a score rating of "F".

I don't hand out money because some threatens me and neither should you. We all work hard for our money. And truth be told a $59.95 negative comment on my credit rating isn't going to bring my rating down.

If enough of us file reports and ocmplain to the right people we may be able to get somewhere. For the record, they don't stop calling either. Even after I told them that I wouldn't pay they call my house 2-3 times a day. That my friends is harrassment!!!
