I saw the mycleanpc ad on MTV and decieded to buy the product hoping it would clear up my computer trouble. After being told by a customer service rep that they were unable to bill my credit card because of some sort of technical issues I hung up the phone and called the credit card people. I was informed that there was a charge from mycleanpc on the card for the amount of the product advertised. I called mycleanpc back and asked for the product or a refund and was told repeatedly that their "billing system" showed no charges had been made to my credit card.

mycleanpc is a scam!!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Be glad you didn't install that garbage!

AUTHOR: Cheri - (U.S.A.)

I'm a certified PC Technician and i'm GLAD to hear you did not install that garbage on your PC. The product you paid for is owned by a company also known as "CyberDefender". There is no certified PC technician in existence who would suggest you put their garbage software on your computer.

The product trys to get you to "pay additional" for any threats it finds, basically holding your computer "Hostage". There are quite a few junk antivirus software packages and outright fake software out there that will even open up your computer to further infections (and won't clean them until you pay them more and more money) and some just outright lie and tell you that some of the essential Windows operating files are infected and try to delete them when they are not infected, thereby destroying your OS.

My suggestion is to do your research online, all you have to do is type in "MyCleanPC" or "CyberDefender" and you will get an eye full.

I suggest going with a high-end certified antivirus / pc cleaning program such as Avast!, Trend-Micro products or Kaspersky. If you have any doubts as to my thoughts on this I welcome you to visit any certified PC repair shop (No, NOT GEEK SQUAD or some teenage run place) and ask them what they would recommend.

Best of luck to you!
