MyRebateOnline.com Rebate Scam Bensalem Pennsylvania

I purchased a Gear Head Notebook Cooler (CF5000U) from buy.com with $13 dollars mail-in rebate in Octobor 2007. I submitted my rebate with all required materials on 10/25/2007. On the rebate form, it is indicated that if you don't receive your rebate within 10-12 weeks, call 866-568-9228. I call the number after 12 weeks when I didn't received any rebate check. I was told that they don't have information of my rebate in their system, and I am not qualifed to submit again since it is too late. I think I was scammed as I know that some rebate fulfillment centers use this kind of execuses to not paying rebates. It seems like it is becoming a trend that these rebate fulfillment centers are using any execuses to avoid paying the rebates. There should be a legislation to govern and monitor these kinds of scams, consumers should be paid twice the amout if the rebates is not received within the promised time.
