I answered an ad on craigslist jobs for a mystery shopper thinking that the company was interested in feed back on their product, personel and over all service. What I found was that it was just a way for the company to generate "leads" for the telemarketers to call and solicitate business, while the "mystery shopper company" earned money on the sales of the "referrals"

Here is a letter I wrote to them after just the first assignment (which was about 12 online solicitations which caused tons of unwanted emails, phone calls and telemarketers harrassing me about everything from life insurance to going back to school to home secutiry systems and yes even attorneys calling me to try to sell their services to sue people for injuries and illnessess) So if you want to spend 5 hours and make 12$ and get flooded with unwanted emails and have your phone ringing off the hook with telemarketers check them out....personally a waste of time and very annoying. No money to be make here.

Actual letter I wrote to the company.

I just wanted to let you know that after seeing the first job sheet and doing 6 of the first assignments I will not be continuing to be participating in the "mystery shopping" job. I do not feel like this is a legitimate business opportunity.  You have little to no interaction with the company, getting no feedback on the company or how they treat their consumers or about their product and are just "giving" out your contact information to all of these companies and setting yourself up for unlimited amounts of spam and telemarketing calls and contacts via, phone, email and mail. I feel like this is just a way for you to be a third party company who's prime objective is to feed "leads" to companies of which I'm sure you earn a profit on. In selling them to the companies. What you are doing is dishonest to people who are honestly trying to earn some extra income for their families. The pay is also not as you indicate, nor is the time frame reasonable for getting the job done. Very misrepresented and dishonest. I will definitely spread the word on this to others. You should be ashamed of yourselves for deceiving people.

Didnt Follow the instruction guide and did less than 20% of the work

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, July 18, 2016

This person didn't follow the "getting started guide". This is a simple , easy to follow training manual that we have every person read before begining work. We even make them acknowledge that they have read it by having them click a check box that says "I have read the getting started guide from start to finish".

The "getting started guide" explians Exactly what to say on the phone calls and gives additional compensation for the phone calls. In other words, we pay extra for phone calls. Had she read the "guide" she wouldn't be on here complaining about the phone calls. We tell our shoppers Exactly what to expect while working for us.

If she had read the guide and followed the instruction she wouldn't have been "flooded" with phone calls. But unfortunately, there is always a small percentage of people that come to work for us and complain about this. It turns out that none of them actually read the instrutional guide. They tell us they did, but they didnt. Now, what is called when someone says they did something, but they really didnt?

As far as the other person that is complaining on this thread, Toni Prince, she also started a new complaint thread and I have already replied to that one if you would like to go see it it.

AUTHOR: toni prince - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 05, 2016

I completed 2 assignments for this company. They said they would pay me $35 for the first assignment & I would be paid on the 3rd of the next month. I never got paid. I have emailed Jennifer numerous times and no response. Theres no way of calling this company so it was a waste of my time. This company is a scam. I also completed a 2nd assignment for the amount of $25 and i doubt i will be seeing that money either. This company needs to be shut down!

My experince with Mystery Shopping Online Job

AUTHOR: Susan - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 15, 2015

I had the opposite experience you had. I enjoyed working with Mystery Shopping Online Job!! But I do understand how you felt the way you did, because there were a lot of phone calls and emails. But I handled them exactly how the company's instruction guide told me to. I found they were very manageable and well worth the compensation.

I found this company to be legitimate and fair. I was paid for ALL of the work I did.
