How shall I start? Well, my Macbook Pro began to fail, so I called Apple support and was somehow transferred to MyTechHelp. Thinking it was Apple Care (even after asking and being confirmed by them). After disputing my problem with them they offered me their version of "Apple Care" and thinking it was a legitament Apple tech support I agreed and was charged $119.00. After having paid I was transferred to someone in Manila, who tried to resolve my problem.

After an hour of "support," nothing was resolved. The next day I took my Macbook Pro to a certified Apple tech, and found out I had been scammed into thinking MyTech was Apple inc. Anyways, a little over a month later I was billed $19.99 again from MyTech for no apparent reason.

While you are right in that the consumer should pay attention to hyperlinks and such.  My issue is your sales rep lied to me directly.  He threw out two plans to fix my laptop offering a one year plan for $249 and a $169 for six months.  I declined on both asking for a one time fix and he made a snod comment towards it which I just found humor in it.  So he offered the $119 one time fix which came with a free month.  Which I didn't care for since I only wanted my laptop fixed and didn't care of any further warranty.  He played the recording as required by the BBB which I surmised after I got ripped off.  And he claimed there wouldn't be any further charges.  He said the tech would fix my issue in minutes.  By the time I got to the tech, the tech informed us we were in a one year plan.  I immediately ceased the conversation and the tech claimed he helped my issue and when he suggested I contact billing for further response, I was told by them that I would get a partial refund of $5 just for speaking to him regardless of what was said.  A supervisor wasn't on duty at time for some reason so I had to call the next day.  After some time going back and forth he claimed I would get an email from some independant department who would review the initial phone call.  Well I got charged the $50 and received no email from yet another lying crook. This company needs to be shut down for fraudulent practices that still ceases to stop.

First, why would a company as huge as Apple transfer you to MyTechHelp? It just does not happen. What you are leaving out is that you either used www.google.com or www.bing.com and searched for Apple tech support or Apple support somehow thinking that the only thing you will see is links to the actual company Apple. What confuses me, is why you would not go to www.apple.com to being with?

When what really happened is you clicked the first link you saw, not reading the website address underneath, which would have brought you to www.mytechhelp.com or www.techzilla.com , both are the same company. You probably noticed the nice big letters stating "support for your Apple device" and somehow missed the other big letters stating "Mytechhelp" or "Techzilla". Which I truly find hard to believe because 99% of the people who call know we are not apple and are looking "Free" support for their device because if you do not have the Apple Care protection plan you have to pay for support per call. So some of this is your responsiblity.

I work for the company, taking anywhere from 50 to 60 calls a day six days a week. All the calls are the same. Everyone says the same thing. The only thing I would agree with you on is this, no one at the company should be stating in anyway that we are actually Apple. This is copyright infringement. In this case you should have asked for the call to be pulled which would have resulted in a full refund. Normally, when someone tries to cancel they would still be charged a $50 diagnosis fee. As for the recurring $19.99 charge, unless you call this is going to happen every month for the next year!

My advice, call to stop this before you see more charges if you have not done so already. Also, from this point on either go to www.apple.com then click on "contact us" in the lower right corner or just call 800-275-2273. But, the only way MyTechHelp or Techzilla is a scam or rip off is if the representative actually says we are Apple. If you are not paying attention to the website link after you use a search engine it a good way to get a virus. And yes, even Apple devices can get viruses. Hope this helps, definetely call to stop the recurring charges because that $119.99 is a yearly plan. The initial payment is the $119.99 with the $19.99 recurring monthly for the next 11 months which is another $219.89.

You are one of the lucky ones since there are call centers in India, South America, and Asia which the only thing that will happen is they will try to upsell you on something else. Probably, making you think you have a virus.
