I rented a comprehending behavioral statistics book for my behavioral statistics course for a time period of one semester & the book was to be returned by December 22, 2014. The semester was over on the 8th of December although I was going to mail the book after winding down from finals for a few days, I received an email on the 10th reminding me that the book was due by the 22nd of December. On the 12th I printed out the prepaid shipping & later that day dropped it of at a UPS center. On the 20th I received an email stating that the book had not been received & that a fee would be applied for the retail purchase of the book if it was not returned by the due. Of course I'm not worried because I know I dropped the book off at a UPS center 10 days before the book was even due! I didn't receive any other emails or calls from knetbooks.com so I assumed that they received the book. After the Christmas holidays I checked my bank account balance & to my surprise there's a charge for $149.10 from "book merchant"! I immediately call my bank and have them reverse the charge because I did not authorize that and I didn't have possession of the book that they charged me retail price for! So a month goes by it's around the last week of January 2015 and I'm checking my monthly bank statement & see a credit reversal for $149.10! I call my bank and inquire as to why was the charge reversed & was told that the merchant told them that the charge was warranted because the book was returned late. I was livid, why the delay and where is the book that I was purchased retail value price for? So of course the rep got a supervisor to help me with that issue and informed me that I would have to call the merchant, ok give me their number, 1-877-322-6787. After calling the number I learned that knetbooks.com was an affiliate of ecampus.com, wow! So I'm dealing with ecampus.com and not knetbooks.com for this unauthorized charged & this is how you'll conduct business & business with a college student who already has enough financial issues with tuition, housing, books, etc....now you want to take my hard earned money that was not due you! Whatever UPS did with the book when I left it with them,  that's them, that's why consumers can insure packages so if you received the book late that's not due to any fault of my own and also did they forget it was the month of December when the book was returned! How many packages are delayed, lost or damaged during this time of year! So why should I be penalized with this ridiculous charge of $149.10 for a book that not only did I ship more than a week of its due date but also for a book that was not shipped back to me since my debit card was charged the price of the book......I got no satisfactory response, what I got was someone will be in touch with you about this matter, I hope that you enjoy the rest of your day, click. I've reported ecampus.com to the BBB in hopes to get a full refund since I have yet to reach a satisfactory outcome about my money being refunded. My advice is just don't deal with either company, waiting a month to get a reversal on a reversed charged when you know you have the book in your possession so to justify the charge you say the book was returned late, when I dropped the book off at UPS a full 10 days before it was due! Definitely unacceptable & I will let anyone & everyone who will read & listen about how ecampus.com & knetbooks.com handled my transactions with them!
