This is a PSA and warning to the Instagram dog community, businesses, dog lovers, and general public.

First, Google reveals disturbing allegations regarding Nakiva Cleveland AKA as Nakiva Cummings from/around Bothell, Washington. Instagram account: @foxfoxwolf

Nakiva Cleveland is ALLEGED to be an animal abuser per claims at GoFundme. An individual who alleged to know Nakiva Cleveland outed her as someone who ALLEGEDLY "kicks and assaults" her own animals, including dog Miko. AJ's post was subsequently deleted while another poster attempted to discredit AJ's claims.

Second, I am an Instamom and have ran CASH giveaway on behalf of my little one. Upon announcing a giveaway, the conditions and legal obligations are spelled out. One of the main obligations is to be an indefinite follower for the account being promoted. In one of those giveaways, I chose Nakiva Cleveland as the winner of a CASH card.

Nakiva Cleveland subsequently unfollowed the account. Upon contacting, she replied with an erratic message. She further stated she had not interacted with the account, a patently FALSE claim.

Based on foregoing facts, Nakiva Cleveland will take valuables from you, profit, and will NOT comply with agreed upon terms, rendering you a SCAM victim. Further, although the animal abuse allegations are currently only allegations, it's in one's best interest to keep pets away from this person as she appears to be mentally unbalanced based on her response when questioned.

For mere principle, legal action would be appropriate although it will be unlikely to collect a judgement as Nakiva Cleveland relies on Gofundme for basic expenses.

If you have been victimized by Nakiva Cleveland, it is highly recommended you report it. Again, proceed with extreme caution  if dealing with Nakiva Cleveland.

Respectfully,

Ele,  California, USA

Who has time for this?!

AUTHOR: Vanessa - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 07, 2017

I don't really have much to say about Nakiva, other than she is a wonderful human being.  I know her through the dog training industry and I have only known her to be kind, compassionate and fully dedicated to the well-being of her dogs.

For those of you have read this far, I am hoping that you read the accuser's statement in full....
Because if you have and you have a brain of your own, you would realize that this is just some angry "InstaMom" who is sick of her children and probably has a husband who ignores her.  Therefore her life is meaningless and she needs to bully others around to make herself feel a slight tinge of happiness.

There are thousands of internet trolls, let's not let them ruin the life or career of a great person.

Facts Over Hurt Feelings

AUTHOR: Teri - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 05, 2017

I have utilized Nakiva's services as an animal trainer for consultation with my own dog. Nakiva was transparant, compassionate, and I have zero reservations recommending her services to anyone. Nakiva is a fine example of a responsible animal handler and owner. She is fair and reliable. I have seen her work with her three dogs in person and am happy to report that she handles them with care. They are thriving and shining examples of how sound training principles can create a healthy animal.

While I’m all for free speech, I’m not all for smear campaigns. This ripoff report lacks merit. The reporter gives no backbone to her claims and leads with a claim that isn’t even hers or coherent. Leading with a undocumented and unfounded rumor unrelated to the real claim trying to be made immediately discredits the reporter. After an extensive internet search, there is no trace of a Gofundme that asserts any wrongdoing by Nakiva Cleveland in relation to the treatment of animals. There is more than 2 years old Gofundme effort to raise money for one of Nakiva’s animals when they were sick needing an MRI and other diagnostic testing for upwards of $5k. This was not an effort to collect basic expenses clearly and falsely stated by the reporter. Here is the link to the only gofundme in any relation to Nakiva Cleveland: gofundme.com/loveformiko. I would invite you to fact check this report yourself with Google, the reporter’s preferred resource.

Further, upon reading the sophomoric and petty assertions written here, a ripoff report complaining that someone unfollowed your dog’s Instagram account hardly sounds like an act worthy of a permanent inflammatory statement written with a clear intention to punish Nakiva. “For mere principle, legal action would be appropriate although it will be unlikely to collect a judgement as Nakiva Cleveland relies on Gofundme for basic expenses.” This statement doesn’t even make sense. Legal action on the reporter’s part would prove unfruitful because no judge would support terms of indefinite followership. It’s laughable at best.

Now, think back to all the online contests you’ve ever entered. Maybe you entered a sweepstakes to win a new car by signing up for marketing from the car dealership. Do you recall any requirement to permanently be on their marketing list? NO. Because that is ludicrous. So who in their right mind would truly demand permanent followership of an Instagram account? Let’s pretend that’s a normal demand. Would a $20 gift card be enough to buy your follower status? No? Me neither. Nakiva didn’t unfollow to be sneaky. This person unfollowed Nakiva’s account signaling their intent to no longer be connected with her. She unfollowed back. Where is the rip-off? There is none. We are in a day and age where people can be petty and impulsive without regard for the lasting effect that their internet behavior can have. This report has petty written all over it. Petty behavior from a United States Coast Guard and his partner. Is that they type of people we have protecting us? Someone who would try to destroy someone’s online business reputation over a $20 gift card and one lost Instagram follower? What is this world coming to? Please use better sense. Please be strong enough in your self-esteem and identity and aware of the casual nature of Instagram to the extent that you don’t lash out on a website that clearly states you cannot unring a bell. Shame on you. SHAME SHAME SHAME. I fear for what would happen to your children (if you have or plan to have any) if they forget to do their chores or bring back less than perfect grades. Your standards and expectations are unrealistic and you have proven that you do not have the wherewithal or scruples to handle the whims and follies of everyday life. My closing request of you rip-off reporter? BE A BETTER PERSON.

If I wasn't worried how this would impact Nakiva as a dog trainer I would find this post HILARIOUS.

AUTHOR: Erica - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 27, 2017

First of all, Nakiva has trained both my dogs, who love and adore her. She would NEVER abuse animals. Nakiva has done nothing but wonderful things for my dogs. She is amazing with all three of her dogs and she often dog sits for us. She is one of the only people I would trust my pups with. With she kind and gentle in training my puppy and taught us patience with our hyper boxer. This is really about this woman's Instagram post. She is spreading lies about someone she doesn't know because Nakiva unfollowed her. And to the author of this post, for the record just because the post says "allegedly" does not mean a tort suit for libel can't be brought against you.

The Facts

AUTHOR: Nakiva - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, September 10, 2017

I am the person that this report is written about.  I know exactly which Instagram account belongs to Ele and her dog.  I’d like to clarify the facts behind this report.

  1. I have never met this person in real life.  She lives multiple states away from me, and the only interaction we have ever had is via Instagram.  This interaction stopped nearly a year ago.
  2. I have never and would never abuse my dogs or any other animal.  My dogs mean more to me than anything else.
  3. The AJ whom Ele is referring to did indeed write on a GoFundMe page that I “kick and assault my dogs, including Miko”.  This person named AJ claimed to know me, however I have never met a man named AJ.
  4. I’ll repeat point number two because it is key here: I have never and would never abuse my dogs.
  5. I did win a giveaway hosted by Ele on her dog’s Instagram page (the winner was selected on December 31st, 2015).  However, it was not a “CASH giveaway” and the prize was not a “CASH card”, as Ele repeatedly states in her report.  The prize was a $20 Amazon gift card (see attachment).  Per Amazon.com, an Amazon gift card cannot be redeemed for cash.  Therefore, Ele’s claim that she hosted a CASH giveaway and selected me as the winner of a CASH card is false.
  6. Months later, I did choose to unfollow Ele’s dog’s account, as the account lost interest to me, and was not an account that engaged in my account (please note: Ele also unfollowed my account prior to this).
  7. Some months later, this person messaged me on Instagram, introducing herself as “Ele, Cherrio’s Mom”.  She began the message by saying she noticed that I had unfollowed her account and stated that this was fine.  She then asked if I would donate to a GoFundMe campaign for a dog who belonged to someone she knew (this is the account which I stated I had not interacted with, NOT Ele/Cheerio’s account).  I explained that I was not financially able to donate at the time, especially to a dog that I did not know.  Ele/Cheerio’s mom then brought up the giveaway, and told me that she had selected me as a winner expecting that I would be willing to give back to her some day.
  8. I do not rely on GoFundMe for “basic expenses”.  The one campaign which I benefitted from was started by a friend to raise funds to help me pay for my oldest dog’s extremely expensive health tests (an EKG, X-Rays, and ultimately a multi-hour test which secured a diagnosis).
  9. I have cared for many people’s pets and all have come to my home and left my home happy.  They are happy the entire time they are here.  I have countless clients and friends who can testify to this.
  10. Finally, the photo that Ele elected to use for her report is a cropped photo, but the original is one I am quite proud of.  It is from earlier this summer, when my Shiba Inu finished his AKC Rally Novice title with a perfect score of 100.  I am grinning from ear to ear and holding up his ribbons.  Shiba Inus are known to be difficult to train, so I was (and still am) extremely proud of this accomplishment that we made as a team.  Judging by the original picture (see below), Mushu is quite proud of himself too.

Please choose to look at the facts.  If you read through Ele’s report and pay close attention to what she wrote, she is quite literally upset because I elected to unfollow her dog on Instagram.  There is no need to spread false information and attack a person simply for unfollowing.

Baseless and Childish claims

AUTHOR: Amy - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, September 09, 2017

I have known Nakiva for over two years. She has been one of my dog trainers for that time and I consider her a friend also. I trust my dog in her care and I have seen her interactions with not only her own dogs but also numerous others. She has never treated them with anything but the utmost love and respect. The claim that she "allegedly" abuses her dogs is baseless and being made by someone who has never interacted with her or her dogs in person. The claim that she uses Gofundme to pay for basic expenses is also baseless. These accusations are being made by someone over her Instagram account being unfollowed by Nakiva. She does not have a binding contract with Nakiva requiring lifelong following on any social media platform but has chosen to allege things that are complete falsifications for what? To get revenge for a petty childish reason.

Lack of proof

AUTHOR: Prancer65 - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, September 09, 2017

There is ZERO proof that this individual is an animal abuser. Hard proof is not difficult to find this day in age with video availability on nearly every smart phone. A rational person can observe how her dogs are treated and discern that no abuse is occurring. The false claims made on this page are entirely to cause destruction. Without hard evidence, words are just that. They reflect poorly on the OP vs the person they are attempting to defame. This person clearly has negative personal feelings toward Said person and refuses to press. Badges.

Laughable Claims

AUTHOR: Jessica - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, September 07, 2017

If you read this report for what it is, this "instamom" (ridiculous and fake occupation btw) is mad because she lost a follower for her dog's IG account. That's it. However, she has buried in all these baseless allegations of animal abuse because what gets people up in arms immediately? The thought of innocent animals being abused. So, people see "ANIMAL ABUSER" even though she's clearly trying to avoid a libel suit with all her "allegedly" statements. She knows that's what people will focus on. She is trying to destroy someone's happinesss, reputation, and livelihood over a LOST INSTAGRAM FOLLOWER. If there was a contest, IT DOESN'T MATTER. Unless one is making someone sign some notarized contract, it is no more binding than those idiotic FB status updates people posting thinking they've any legal merit. I've known Nakiva for over a year now. I've seen her train dogs. Myself and countless others would never trust her with our own beloved dogs if we thought for a second she would harm them. We would not recommend her to others if we thought that she would mistreat them. I've seen how she is with her animals. Her world revolves around her dogs. She gives them the best of care, the best food, the best health care when needed. Because she loves her animals. Perhaps Ms Instamom should take her dog for a walk and quit trying to destroy a life over something as stupid as a lost Instagram follower. IG ultimately means nothing in life. It is fleeting. It is inconsequential. Find something that is for the betterment of mankind.

Untrue Accusations

AUTHOR: ELLA - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, September 07, 2017

I first met Nakiva when pursuing a dog trainer for our dog. My partner and I have gotten to know her as a friend and have built a trusting relationship with her. We have met all her dogs and have seen the bond they all have individually with Nakiva and as a pack. She provides for all her dogs needs (food, shelter, safety) and more. To claim that she is an animal abuser is far from the truth. A person who has only known her through the internet cannot attest to her character and love for animals. We have and continue to feel comfortable with having our dog stay with Nakiva. I hope anyone who reads these accusations can see the lack of knowledge and does not take it under consideration.

False Accusations

AUTHOR: Kelsey - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, September 07, 2017

I work with this wonderful person and the allegations that she abuses her dogs is beyond false. Her dogs are happy amd healthy and I see them every day. The allegations are COMPLETELY untrue. The person who wrote this report has not met her or her dogs and has not seen her interact with them. They adore her. They are in no way abused. I have trusted her with my dog and I always will because she is AMAZING with all animals anything suggesting otherwise is just plain wrong.
