DO NOT USE!!!  Robert Jackson ripped us off!  Robert agreed to re-screen and paint our back porch, clean our roof and pressure wash our house.  I've used Robert in the past to pressure wash our house and he seemed to do an OK job and be fairly hones, so when he asked that I advance him $150 I trusted he would get the work done.  This job was agreed upon on 4/30/12 with the work supposed to get done on 5/4/12.  May 4th goes by and no work has been completed.  I get a call from Robert saying he can do the job on 5/10, but in the meantime if it would be OK to advance him the rest of the money, so he can get his pressure washer fixed.  Since I've used him in the past and trusted him, I agreed to advancing Robert the rest of the money.  Robert starts the job of painting and re-screening the back porch, but doesn't finish the job until late afternoon the next day.  To say the job was complete would be an absolute understatement.  The new scree had white paint on it.  The sides of the new lattice was never painted.  The screen was sagging and not tightly stapled on to the porch frame.  To top it off, the lattice was never cut at the corner of the porch, so I had 2 feet of wood sticking out past the corner.  I called and emailed Robert to ask him to fix his work on the porch.  He responded that he would be able to come over later in the week.  A week goes by and Robert doesn't show up.  I call again and leave a message, but it never gets returned.  I send countless emails and text messages and still no response.  Finally, 2 weeks later, Robert responds to a text message saying he's been out of town and he's not in the business of ripping people off.  That was the last time I have heard from Robert.  He does not respond to phone calls, text messages or emails.  He has done the one thing he says he's not in the business of doing, which is RIPPING ME OFF!  I should've known better and not have trusted him by advancing the money.  That was my fault.  However, it is still unapproriate for a business to steal money from their client.  He may come across as being very nice and willing to work hard, but do not be fooled!  Avoid this business!

Ripped off

First let me say I am sorry to learn that another betrayed your trust, doing so harms many in the future. But understand he may have betrayed your trust in him, but he harmed himself far more.  This proves who he is as a person.

Regardless how well you know the people of a business or how many times you have hired the services of a business, the relationship should always remain a business relationship.
The Owner & employees even can be as close as your own family, but still the relationship should remain a Business / Customer relationship.

As soon as the Business asked for upfront money, this should have been a red flag that the company was failing. The second request for money was you enabling the Business to rip you off.
Not trying to side with the Business or insult your injury further, you did a great deed, trust is a gift not often given today for good reasons.
In giving the gift of trust, be sure one is worthy of the gift.
