 Posted a piece of furniture on Craigslist. Got a response from a Nancy Laughlin.   One thing led to another as far as e-mailing to each other. Said she would buy the item unseen.     Wanted money wired to a mover via Western Union as other items were to be picked up in route.     Counterfeit check was issued from a legitimate co. out of Texas.   Arrived by the US Postal system via Express mail to my address.   Movers actually called to set up a delivery date.  There were actually 4 to 5 red flags in this scam and we never picked up on it.    Had our reservations though. It's the first time we ever listed anything on Craigs list.       Got scammed out of a rather significant  amount of money.  Please, please, please anyone doing business with Craigslist you want telephone #'s to be able to talk to this person, and try to keep it somewhat local maybe within 100 miles.  Best way to deal is positivly, absolutly hard cold cash. Just stay away from any type of checks.   And above anything and everything avoid out of state sales!!!!!!
