Nannette Barbera Fraud, Withholding funds, Breach of Contract Las Vegas NV Nevada

I felt compelled to write this rebuttal to help clear up things that heve been said about my boss and friend of 40 years. I have known Nannette Barbera for many years and I have seen her produce many successful shows. I have worked along side her and I worked for her as a company manager. When I witnessed 2 shows last summer that Nannette produced and choreographed, it was a very happy time for all involved. As far as the 2 shows in Reno, Nevada last summer I was witness to a lot of hard work from both parties involved!

I know that Nannette wanted to creat something beautiful for Reno and I believe that she hired very hard working dancers to put these shows together. Unfortunaltely when money gets involved it takes precedence over all of the hard work and all of the love that we have for our craft. As we all have to hake a living.

As company manager I was a witness to a lot of stress due to Nannette Barbera being stuck between having to make a corporate hotel happy while trying to keep her cast happy at the same time. I know that Nannette is not a rip-off artist nor a scam artist. She is a business woman iiving in a world where making a living in show business has become almost impossible as a live show producer, with the cuts and the demands of corporate entities.

I did witness her paying 13 checks for 13 weeks of work to the dancers. Nannette made every effort to keep the shows running.... Unfortunatley the leading lady of the late show, Angelica Bridges failed to make the show one night, due to bad weather conditions and her flight. The dancers were there to work and wanted to be paid even if the show was cacelled, Nannete was not obligated to pay for cancelled show, Nannette tried in everyway to make sure the show went on, including asking me to be the lead for the one show. I was dressed and ready to go on stage to pull the show through, even though the dancers did not agree with Nannette's decision.

The hotel decided to cancel the show... NOT Nannette Barbera. The hotel felt this was the right thing to do as her leading lady was not in the building, she was on all the billboards and they did not want to have discrepancies or lawsuits. It seemed that things just go personal and worse from there. I know that in the begining of the show Nannette helped dancers, gave them advances when people needed them and compensated the remaining dancers for the show that they were still dancing, she even gave them raises to balance out the other show that closed. She also threw very nice parties for her cast. It's very unfortunate that allot of people know the word "SHOW" in Show Business....but when it comes down to the word"Business" thats when their is a lot of stress and allot strain put on show Producers which trickles down to the dancers and performers. It casues nothing but hurt feelings and bad relationships between all parties. It hurt me to see this. But I think the vicious comments and slander needs to stop. It never helps things . Especially when people are attacking! This does not solve anything, this needs to be resolved as this does nothing for anyone's career.

Unfortunately this singer was let go by Executive Producer (who also paid the cast each week) sometimes things just do not work out and I do not need to get into the "why's",  I actually felt she was fine to keep in the production but he on the other hand did not, this is just a band wagon for her to jump on to platform her hostilities toward the show and myself, I can only say, we wish her all the success in all her future productions. 

People have differences in life and business thats why we have courts to decide who is right. Her claim and situation should have been handled in court not on a public forum trying to discredit some one that has worked very hard in this business and given countless jobs to performers. To post cell phone information, images of a working relationship and photos should not have been done. After 16 aggressive and threatening texts to me and my fiance, my simple request was please forward me your attorneys number and my attorney will be happy to call me, she said "Yeah right". I did my best to resolve this issue with NO cooperation. I hope she has a successful career and moves on, and maybe has learn from this experience the right way to dispute disagreements such as what she claims, is in court.

 Facts: As stated in the original post, the number of checks was never in question however the issue was the value of the checks. It is unfortunate that people resort to slander and libel when they are called out for how they conduct themselves in business. Yes, in fact the show is moving on and I, the original poster was asked to not only be a part of said production but to also hold a line captain position. Unfortunately these allegations are true and have been posted as a warning; not to be vicious. I’m simply making future employees aware of the conditions they are entering and to prepare themselves.

 To all parties concerned who do not know of or are very possibly considering the idea of working with Nannette Barbera! Save yourself! I was a member of her cast last summer, and witnessed more lack of professionalism and honest business, than I have ever seen in my career. Nannette is quite frankly a pathological liar.

During the course of my contract myself and countless other cast mates lost thousands of dollars, dealt with bounced checks, and unsafe and unfit living conditions. Nannette constantly hires outside of her targeted LV area...because she has burned most if not all bridges with her countless failed shows. She is a grown woman pushing 70 and still acting as if she is the victim of her pyramid scheme also known as "Nannette Barbera” productions!

Facts: staff worked 13 weeks and received 13 checks. The show she is referring to is moving on to another venue without this cast member.  All allegations are untrue and unfounded. This is a vicious move from a very troubled girl.
