I have been working for National Assemblers for a few months now.  They have changed the payroll policies constantly.  I have been short on my check every single time.  The supervisors and many other employees have had the same issues.  In addition, they do not reimburse for mileage, their corporate communications are unprofessional, unclear, and poorly written.

National Assemblers is a scam! They force you to pay for expensive tools, saying they will take X amount out of your check each week; then deduct the entire sum without telling you.  They have an archaic system of mailing invoices.  If they're lost or late due to the USPS - you do not get paid.

They expect their employees to maintain professionalism; but they do not even know the meaning of the word!

#2 UPDATE Employee

This doesn't reflect my experiences with NAI

AUTHOR: Kyle - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, November 27, 2015

I've been with the company for 2 years.  When I started 2 years ago we could buy the required tools from any source we wanted, and I got most of my tools from 3rd party sources like Amazon.  What was stressed was having the correct tools for the job, not buying things from NAI.  It's always good news when a new assembler comes on board and already has bike tools.  I've done work as a contractor/outsourcer in the past and building bikes isn't any different in having some start-up costs for the employee.

I've needed to buy new tools for every such job, and sometimes just tools for a specific one-off job as a contractor.  The idea that you wouldn't need to buy tools to do this kind of job is ridiculuous and it's not as if this information is sprung on employees after they have been hired.  It's someting that is addressed several times in the interview process before any recruit even agrees to take the position.

I've also never been shorted for something I've assembled on my paycheck.  The billing procedure has changed one-time in the past 2 years.  Back when we had to mail in work orders you kept a carbon copy for your own records incase something got lost to ensure you could still get paid if USPS lost your mail.  I never missed out on getting paid the entire time I was mailing in work orders, which we no longer have to do.  Now my work orders get audited from a digital copy by the next day in most cases, and get added to a searchable work order payroll report so I can see exactly what I'm getting paid per item.

They are total ripp offs,  there is a federal class action lawsuit filed against them now.   They claim it got thrown out but the lawyer says it was refiled and is ongoing.  I can not recommend this company for anything.  Total liars and cheats.
