I was a recent graduate from my local community college earning my degree in web development and was having issues finding work within Illinois. So a friend told me about NEW so i decided to apply, which turned out to be the biggest mistake in my entire life.

I got hired and although i was over an hour and a half from their Terre Haute training location, i was still forced to drive there through 2 different time zones for 6 weeks when they offered online training yet i didn't qualify for some reason, even though the miles exceeded the requirements to be in an online training course.

So needing a job, i accepted the distance and the position. I had to leave Illinois every morning around 4:30am Central, just to beat traffic, to make it to Terre Haute, Indiana by class time at 8am Eastern, and they did not allow anyone to miss even a minute of class or you were gone,

By going through these two different time zones everyday for class, during the second week of attendance, i was totally exhausted not to account we had to stay there for 9.5hrs a day and not miss a minute. By Thursday of my second week of class, i had left the training facility to head back home and from extreme exhaustion, i blacked out on cruise control driving down the interstate, flew off the road and smashed into a tree at full speed.

I somehow survived this horrific, and life altering accident that i am still recovering from today. That Friday morning, NEW found out about the accident, i was still messed up but conscious enough to learn that NEW had terminated my employment because i had missed class Friday due to being in the hospital surviving what could have been a life ending ordeal.

I said i could be back to class Monday of the next week, even was willing to leave the hospital, injuries, concussion and all, just to try to save the only job i could find, just to be told, sorry, your fired. So about a month passed by, I was slowly recovering from this tragedy that many accidents just like this one, the survival rate is little to none, i received a call from NEW offering me the position again.

After having little to no success with other positions, i decided to accept and assumed that this time i would be able to be in the internet training course due to the extensive miles from the facility and maybe a small bit of remorse for the accident that almost ended my life but i was wrong again.

This time around, i spent my own money for motels the 6 weeks just to make sure i was safe and finished because they did not reimburse no expenses. I really had no choice but to either stay unemployed, or try again.

This time, over 1300.00 in the hole for run down dumpy motels, i completed the training, barely. Myself and others the company wanted to fire for any little reason, others quit but i was determined.

So i made it to the home working environment aspect of the job and have to say, was really enjoying the freedom of the position. this was until i was placed on by far the worst group of individuals i ever had contact with starting with the most conceded supervisor. I will not name complete names but her first name was Terri.

For calls and service i was once getting 80%-95% in training and nesting, Terri was relentless on criticizing every little thing i did and offering up nothing higher than a 60%! She went so far as to say i talked to much with the customer, i breathed to much, the endless list went on and on.

After my 3rd month, i had to either, show up in court or go to jail for contempt of court, date, i had told NEW and Terri about weeks prior to the date. I had proof from the courts, my attorney, and even then, i was told, either i show up for work and miss court, or yet again, i was fired. Well, i did not want to go to jail, so i had no choice but to show up for court. This was the 2nd reason for termination with NEW.

This experience with this company has completely change my life. I continue to suffer, physically and mentally from the accident today and the way they wanted us to treat the customers of Directv was totally bias and rude. The way they treated me and many others that tried out for the position was totally wrong and completely prejudice. This company is out to rip not only their own employees off with an i don't care attitude, but could care less about Directv or their customers equipment. It was all about profits & call times. Who cares if a new subscriber just recently installed was getting a searching for satellite error due to faulty installs, shut them up and get them off the phone was their motto. NEW Corp sucks and i hope Karma comes back and bankrupts this greedy, selfish company. Don't let them tell you this is the best thing that hit employment since the pen, because it was too good to be true.

First off, I have a degree and certification in web development and PC technology. So before you decide to degrade me about education, maybe you should know the facts. Secondly, apparently you never lived in the southern Midwestern area of Illinois. Jobs r very limited so of course I take what I could get. Also, as for expenses, I did PC repair and web marketing on the side so that's where the money came from. Finally, you may have a good experience in the call center but obviously you did not do the wfh position so don't tell me I am wrong when, yet again, you do not gave the facts. Yes, they did jump all over us if we went over a certain time and I was told personally not to conversate wit customers just solve the issue and get them off the phone. One thing you are correct about is I am not a csr. That job sucks in my opinion so sorry you love that uneducated, lame position you call a career. So maybe if your so intellegent, you would have an education and not be on here degrading me without the facts. But considering where your from, others can't expect much else. That's y the south didn't win the war, just might be cuz of the ignorant people like you.

Hello there i would first like to thank god that you survived the accident and would like to secondly like for you to know that the training at new is very fast paced and it is understandable that if you miss more than two hours total in training you are fired because so much has to be covered. and secondly you know there are ways to take time off from new.  i would also like to say i enjoy working for new because of the lovely atmosphere at my center located in mississippi now if you had to travel a long distance just to take the job you could have found a local job like cleaning restrooms, a job is a job in this economy and just because you complain that you had to pay for all the expenses for the rooms. nobody said you had to do that or that you had to find a job so far away i am just wondering how you can afford the hotel rooms for 6 weeks because if i am correct you were jobless and in mississippi if your jobless , you have no money, you go and look for a job any way you can no matter the job it might just be the southern way but we don't go out and find a job a few states away when you can do anything closer by. furthermore how did you afford gas when you had to travel two timezones away just to get to class were you rideing a bicycle? because there is more money wasted on your part when you could have saved that money and invested in a better education and gotten a career instead of a job!  from where i come from the total expenses for your rooms and food and gas just to get the job can pay for a semester at the community colleges around here where you can get a degree in which ever field you chose. so just from the way you have written the rant on new im guessing your mommy never made you grow up and understand that life is hard get use to it and grow a pair. i would also bet that since you have so much money to just spend on unneccesary expenses you have never had a job or your daddy has always paid for everything. well i am glad that you are no longer employed with new because the customers don't need to hear the utter lack of carelessness that you have for their issues. you are the reason directv and new gets a bad reputation because you are not  customer care representive material. P.S. new does not try and get their customers off the phone they actualy care. always have and always will  they strive to take care of the most amount of customers as they can in the least amount of time.
