Today, August 21, 2004, I received a billing statement for a loan that I know nothing about. From the information listed in this statement there has already been a payment on this loan of $44.39. Naturally, I am troubled by this. Not sure if this is a case of identity theft or this company attempting to take advantage of me, either case my personal information has been attained from where I have no idea. Please response as soon as you can, I need to take care of this as soon as possible. I have been through many sources attempting to find a location of this company in the state of Wisconsin to no prevail. Thank you for your prompt reply.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

You need to pull your credit reports

If you think you may be the victim of identity theft, one of the first things you need to do is obtain your credit reports from Experian, Equifax and Trans Union credit bureaus. You can look them up online and I believe the Trans Union site may offer all 3 for around $40. DO NOT USE FREECREDITREPORT.COM!!!! As you can read in the archives, that "free" report will not be free!! You're better off to knowlingly spend some money to get yours.

I also have a weekly program that updates me with whatever the status of my credit reports are. If there's no change, the email says there have been no changes. If there is a change, it gives me a link to view what the change is.

Good Luck.
