I used them last year to move my son from CO to TX. The salesperson made a big deal that they were a carrier, not just a broker, but then assigned the move to a carrier that had lost their certification to operate. I didn't find that out until after the move when trying to get a claim settled.

However, this went badly from the start. The move was contracted (binding estimate) on the basis of weight. The salesperson, Zack Demo, said that NMG routinely overestimates the weight so that the final price is lower than quoted - no unpleasant surprises, he said. The carrier who picked up the load confirmed that he knew it was a weight-based job and stated he would have the truck weighed on the way to the warehouse in order to obtain a true weight. A couple of days later, when I called the firm to inquire about delivery schedule and to discuss the final price, I was told that it was a cuft based move and the price would remain as originally quoted. By my calculations, the load weighted over 1000 pounds less than the estimate - or about $500 less

While continuing to fight that fight with NMG, the carrier, A to Z Moving and Storage (DBA Denver Movers) called to say the load was scheduled for delivery. A couple of days later, my son met the truck at his apartment. As the fellows began to off-load the truck, my son pointed out that the items weren't his. It took some convincing, but the driver eventually agreed. It took over a week to get another delivery scheduled. This time, the driver and assistant rushed stuff off as quickly as they could, leaving many boxes on the front lawn for my son to take up the stairs to the apartment. And then they were ticked off because he didn't tip them!

I filed a claim (for over $1000 including damage, delay and overcharging) with the adjuster than the carrier directed me to, with all supporting photos, documents, etc. I was told that the carrier had up to 120 days to respond. About 3 days short of the deadline, the adjuster called me to say they were no longer servicing claims for the carrier and I would need to contact them directly. However, the phone number they gave me was for another moving company (with similar name). I tried calling the numbers that were printed on the various lading and related documents, but they had been disconnected. The adjuster said there was nothing more they could do.

I then researched the carrier on the DOT web site and found that their certification to carry household goods had been revoked prior to the move. I called NMG and spoke with someone in customer service who asked that I email her the documents, which I did within minutes. She said it would take a day or two to review and get back to me. I never heard back from them. Repeated emails went unanswered. Phone calls were answered, but with a response that someone will get back to me - which never happened.

This company is a scam in terms of their pricing promises and unprofessional brokering services. They do not stand behind their own contract, hold the carriers accountable, or handle problems. In fact, their "after hours customer service" phone only got me to a recording, not to the promised "live person".

Don't be fooled by thinking a contract will protect you. Use a reputable firm with strong reviews.
