National Paving Mike Wasso Ripp Off Con Man Perris California

Unfortunately, I didn't research Mike Wasso or National Paving before we handed him $700 cash so he could buy the materials for our paving job (red flag missed).  As with the other review I was told about how ill his wife is, which to this day I believe is really true.  However, that doesn't mean you go around ripping people off.....Even if you want to buy her a new Merdedes the next week!!!

It should have concerned me when he brought up only 1 guy to do our long driveway.  Had 1 bag of sand which now that I think about it should have been a tip off the job didnt have a chance of being done properly since we have a long driveway with a ton of cracks that needed to be filled.

He dropped the one guy off (he was a great guy) a half hour late and went to another job "up the hill".  They showed up at 9 AM and left by 2PM.  During that time, the one guy was filling cracks up at the top of our hill, Mike came back later and I saw him putting our hose in the tank of slurry.  When I asked him about it he told me you have to add water to a new batch.

I was busy in my house and never monitored what they were doing.  Big mistake!  I did notice when he was putting water in his tank that the contractor license on the tank was covrered up with pieces of duct tape. I was hoping it was because he might have just bought it from somebody but now looking back on it, that was probably a red flag too.

To sum it up, I was busy on the phone with my brother that I just brought back from a kidney and liver transplant.  He was having a problem so I was concerned about him and not about Mike.  Mike knocked on the door and told me he was finished and needed a check.  I gave him the check without checking down the bottom of the driveway.

Biggest mistake, other than hiring him..  When I was leaving I saw that he didn't repair a bunch of places down at the bottom.  I knew when my husband saw it there was going to be a major problem.  I called Mike and told him what a crap job it was and he needed to come back and fix it.  He did come back and "fixed" it and left all the asphalt he dug out at the bottom of the driveway.

When my husband saw the work that was done, he told me how bad it was ( duuuuh) and looked up Rip Off Report and the BBB website and told me that the guy is a con man and doesn't complete the jobs after he gets the money.

To bolster the complaints on Rip Off Report and BBB the following week, there was a warning in our small town newspaper The County Journal stating the same scenario we experienced by our neighbors.

When I contacted Mike again and told him about the reports we saw and about the warning in our newspaper he offered to come back out or refund our money.  Of course we didn't want him to come back so we said we'd like our money refunded.

He promised to return the money in the mail on Friday that week.   He then tried to call me several times to which I texted back and told him I didn't want to have any further phone converation, that he could text me.. At that point all communication stopped.

To sum it all up, less than a week after National Paving/Mike Wasso "repaired" our driveway, the ants had already pushed the sand through the "2 heavy layers" of coating.  Then about 3 weeks later, weeds were all over the areas where he "fixed" the driveway.
