NSBA's auto dialing system calls our business repeatedly. Annoying recordings tie up our phone lines, fill up our voice mail box. We have waited out the message numerous times to speak to a live sales person. When we inform them that we want our number placed on the Do Not Call list, the reps become rude then hostile. (This company has a good rating with http://www.fbaa.us/companies/natlsba.htm
Is fbaa a bogus/scam company too?) It is a waste of NSBA's time to continue harrassing us with these phone calls, but they continue.

I know they are breaking the law, but what can one do? We fear they'll retaliate in some way by selling our telephone number to others. Our company has a strict policy against dealing with telemarketing companies. We keep records of each request - as we have with NSBA.

I have emailed the company and the replies are signed 'National Small Business Alliance' - no person being accountable for the problem. They've asked that I email my telephone number, but I am reluctant to do so
given the history of requests already made.

No need to call you Dennis.

Dennis,

If you had read my post correctly, you would see that I am no longer employed with Blockbuster. And I have not been there in over a year. So I cannot say whether or not the calls have finally stopped. So, therefore, I have no reason to call you directly.

But, let me tell you what I have done recently. I have searched this site, and found almost 60 complaints against your "company". I have searched Google, and found out you are affiliated with the Fair Business Association of America (FBAA). So, how much did your affiliation cost you? Was it worth it to get your banner on their front page? Guess who else I saw on that page? That's right, more scam companies that are reported here, like PMI Coaching, Storesonline.com, etc.

Of the complaints here, some say they were called even though they do not have a small business, and the calls won't stop. You reply by saying call you directly. Why can't the call reps just note the number and not call back? Oh, that's right, your automated dailing system calls all numbers that the auto-dailer says are good. I can't tell you how many times I stopped what I was doing to answer the phone, only for it to be that damned auto-dailer checking to see if that was a good line. And of course, that was soon followed up by a call from good ol' NSBA.

And you would say that 60 complaints out of 50,000 customers is not bad. I wonder how many complaints there would be if every single person your company contacted knew about this website? I'm sure the number would be astronomical.

Your company must have annoyed me pretty bad for me to come on here and trash you so much.

Don't bother responding, I really don't want to hear it.

Also had the same problems.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 20, 2005

I used to work as a Store Manager at Blockbuster. NSBA used to call us all the time. Every time, I told them that we are Blockbuster, a NATIONWIDE company owned by Viacom (world's largest entertainment company). We were NOT a small business. But that did not matter. We still got the calls.

We had 3 lines to our store, one of which was for fax, but rang the normal phone if there was no fax signal present. Needless to say, they called on all 3 lines almost daily. I finally got so tired of it, I would just hang up when the recording would start. What a hassle on the days when I was the only one in the store.

We must have been getting the calls because my store was fairly new. I hated them.
