My house is being foreclosed on May 28th,2008. I have tried to work something out with my Mortgage company Nationstar for several months. At first it was that I needed to catch up on my payments and then they would work with me. My reply was " If I could get caught up I wouldn't be behind" Well I put my house on the market in January and have very little interest since the market has crashed.

In speaking with my account rep with Nationstar he brought up the possibility of doing a short sale. My realtor agreed that that might be the best way to get out of the foreclosure. So I lowered my price to just under what I thought the payoff on my loan was and finally got an offer. My realtor turned it over to Nationstar and my account rep.

When I called him he told my that in order for them to except the offer that I would have to sign an agreement to pay Nationstar $50,000.00 over the next ten years. Being very confused asked why and I was told that that was the amount they need to cover things. I spoke to my realtor and they where confused about it to. They thought a short sale was just that. My realtor has contacted my rep and he told them the same thing. My realtor said that my account rep was very short and and some what rude to them. I called him and again asked what the $50,000.00 was for and he became very rude and insulting to me telling me that, that's what it would take for him to take any offer for my house and that if I didn't sign that paper that my house would foreclose and they would come after me for every penny. Again I just asked for a detail list for this money and he refused to give it to me.

I feel that I am being blackmailed. I know that my loan was not that much over the offer I got but I am going to be forced to sign a loan for the next ten years. I have tried to contact my reps boss and to this day he has not returned my calls or my realtor calls. How do you deal with a bank that sounds like they will take you to the grave over every dollar? Is this how all banks act?

I can't get my bank involved in any federal programs to help us, their response was "we don't do that". I am a veteran that can't get any help from no one. Is there some one you know that can help me save my house. If this is a common thing then I think the people of America should know about this and how dirty some banks can be.

Thanks for reading my story and hope you can help
