About a month and a half ago My husband, myself and our three kids were out for a leisure drive on a Saturday night in our 1967 RS/SS big block convertible camaro. (we only drive it on weekends). We started to have car trouble, I immediatley told my husband to get out the road ( to which he did) about 30 seconds later a 72 year old man ran off the side of the road and hit our car. Now if any of you have classic cars you know they are your pride and joy (and you also know the time and money spent on them). I thought I was dreaming, I could not believe that this beautiful car(that our entire family loved) now looked like a mangled piece of junk. The right quarter panel was just rolled up metal.

I do not have much space but to let you comsumers know if you have nationwide CANCEL IT. If you ever get hit by someone with nationwide ins. you better be prepared for the longest ,most stressful event you have ever been through in your life. They do not want to pay off. They accuse you of everything possible, when you are just a innocent victim. It's not right and it's not fair and we all need to stand together and put a stop to these insurance companies. This case is still pending and we have not recieved a dime.

NationWide ROCKs

AUTHOR: Sac123abc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 25, 2010

I have had different insurance company

AAA, GEICO, Farmers, Allstate, StateFarm, and even the General and I got to say...NATIONWIDE INSURANCE Rocks.

My rates do no increase and I am happy with them.  I even called them and enrolled in the RoadSide Assistance program.

Here is what I am paying 2 cars Liability only, 1 speeding ticket, 1 DUI, $103.00 a month.

The other insurance companies SUCK compared to Nationwide Prices, and to top it off their customer support is awesome, when I signed up I asked them to email me a copy of the SR22 they did in 5 minutes.  CUSTOMER SERVICE at its best.  Knock it all you want but some of us KNOW the truth.

Face to Face with there lawyer is right!

AUTHOR: shaun - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 23, 2010

Face to Face! HAHAHAHA thats funny. I was just recently face to face with their lawyer making a deposition. Nationwide is who was covering me when my property was broken into and everything of any value was stolen. From couches to tv's to anything that is humanly possible to pick up. That was March 3 2009. Today's date is 01-22-10( deposition was 01-14-10). You know I thought Nationwide is on my side, but then they come into the room nearly a yr later with their lawyer across the table starring at me Face to Face! Ironic!

Learn how Insurance works

POSTED: Monday, February 18, 2008

I have worked for Nationwide for over 10 years now and I can honestly say that Nationwide has an AWESOME claims department! I hear more complaints from other customers with their insurance companies "not paying up" So please tell the whole story as to why you are upset with Nationwide. Maybe your car wasn't insured to its "Stated Value" as most classic cars are insured? Did you get the appraisal done on your car before you insured it? Sounds like to me that you needed to do more homework about insuring classic cars. Just because you own one it doens't mean you know how to properly insure one. Happily employed and insured by Nationwide-We are on your side.

Nationwide fraud

AUTHOR: Jbt - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 27, 2007

If you are a victim and enter into negotiations with Nationwide for a settlement, do NOT sign the 'Release of All Claims' form until you've had an attorney review it.

In dealing with Nationwide's Commercial Claims division, I experienced lies, strong-arming tactics, deliberate falsification of facts, and a
blatant attempt to leave me wide open to future legal action against myself or anyone connected to me, while denying me any right to pursue legal action against Nationwide or their policy holder.

It's clear in dealing with Nationwide that the reason insurance rates are going up across the board for all consumers is not necessarily because of consumer insurance fraud, but more because of fraud directed against the consumer by insurance companies. This leaves the
victim no choice but to hire a personal injury attorney and the final cost goes up X-fold.

Visit badfaithinsurance.org for more information on these quasi-criminals.

ice maker leak--mold, rot, PLEASE

AUTHOR: Mimi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 29, 2005

Upset at no homeowner coverage due to an ice maker line leak over a period of time causing mold / rot. GET OVER IT.

Homeowner's Insurance is for Catastrophic damage only, meaning sudden. Your upset because you didn't know there was a leak until mold and rotten wood had resulted. You feel that as you were not neglectful in any way that Nationwide should pay. NOT TRUE. Read your Nationwide Letters again and you will not find any hint that they are denying coverage because you knew about it and did nothing. They were merely stating that this is not a sudden loss. Yes, mold can grow within 24 - 48 hrs under the right condition, but ROT cannot. That takes months to happen. Do yourself a favor, simply call up any other insurance company and ask if they cover ROTTEN wood from a plumbing leak. Then please post the names of those companies that do. There won't be one. Insurance is a contract that protects you against certain losses, this is not. Homeowner's Insurance is NOT a Homeowner Warranty. Do you call your insurance company when your engine block blows because you had no oil and were not checking it, NO. Treat your home like a car, it needs constant checking to make sure all components are working properly. Maintain your own home and quit looking for your insurance company to do it.

Maybe you need to move

AUTHOR: Angelina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 08, 2004

I think that all of those reports stating that they have had bad experiences with Nationwide is because they live up north. Most of the negative reports are coming from VA and other nothern states. If you all would stop being so d**n hatefull all of the time then Nationwide employees would be alot more attentive to your needs and you would not be writing nasty notes regarding them. I am from the wonderful, wholsome south and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences from Nationwide. They treat my policys as if they were there own. So either move or stop complaining.

Insurance Commissioner

AUTHOR: Dwight - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 06, 2004

I would recommend contacting the insurance commissioner again. They are definitely in a position to help the consumer. Unless the reason they cannot help is because they know you are 100% in the wrong. They aren't complete fools and aren't going to waste their time or tax payer money, thank goodness, on cases where the consumer is clearly wrong.

THE OTHER HOMEOWNER ..true facts are that in the proper conditions mold can grow in 24 to 48 hrs.

AUTHOR: ROBERT - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 04, 2004

In response to Marvin The only people ignorant
and lazy are at Nationwide Insurance. From your
response it is your contention that mold and rot
take years to appear. The true facts are that in
the proper conditions mold can grow in 24 to 48 hrs.

The area behind a stove and refrigerator have all
the necessary elements to make this happen. The
filter was a latent leak(not seen)since the leak
was not a pipe burst but a slow drip it was not
found until the damage was done.

Nationwide practices BAD FAITH when dealing with there customers. I spent a week trying to get
help. But to no avail. I went to the Ins commision
in Florida but only to be told they can not help..

Natioinwide corporate response is take us to court
we may lose but we can tie it up in the court system for years.. They are really on your side.

I find it funny that two years after the fact that
they are now giving a time frame on there favorite
saying Continuous and repeated seepage.

Nationwide is not on Your side when there is a problem Nationwide will leave you out in the cold.
There so called independent investigation into
Mis information from a agent is not that. It is done by there STAFF attorney.

Nationwide Claims service is for the company not
for the consumer.

Nationwide left us when we needed them. They put
my families health at risk and added to the damage
of our home. YES THEY RIPPED US OFF

POSTED: Monday, August 02, 2004

You are sooo wrong about your statements. The filter was installed 7/02, the leak discovered 10/02. you are wrong that it takes years for mold to grow. Nationwide stated that they do not cover water damaged that has created mold or wood rot from a appliance fixture from continous and repeated leakage. No one could define the time frame of continous and repeated. Now 2 years later the changed their policies to define the time frame (180 days). God help the ignorant.

They Don't Know What Refund Means

AUTHOR: Raymond - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 06, 2004

I had a Honda Accord insured with Nationwide Insurnace. My car had alot miles and was having a lot of repairs done. Due to this, I misseda few payments and it was reposessed. A month prior to that I had to give Nationwide Insurance over $600.00 to get a policy with them. When my car was repoed I called immediately to cancel my policy. They said they would be sending a check to me for $370.00. A month passed and still no money. I called them and told them I never received it. Wait two more weeks (they kept telling me every time I would have it in 2 weeks) still never called. I cancelled my policy In January and it took six months and nine phone calls to get it. Is this a promblem?..um yeah.

Nationwide Claims, I have had nothing but good luck.

AUTHOR: Ann - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 20, 2004

I have been with Nationwide for over 2 years now. Last November, while my husband and I were inside a restaurant eating lunch, our car was hit. The whole entire passenger side was smashed in, and yet no one saw anything, figure that out. Either way, we were upset, knowing we'd be responsible and afraid our insurance would go up. We called up the police department and filed a claim, and then called up our insurance company, Nationwide. I was very upset, but the woman on the other end was very nice and helpful. She told me a police report wasnt necessary, but its good to have in case anyone questions anything. (I know better, that report is for my benefit, so no one can screw us over). She then told me that since it was a hit and run, they would take care of it, and offered me the choices on how to get the car fixed. She gave me a list of dealerships, contacted them for me, and set me up with a rental car. Granted, I did have to pay the deductible, but that is a lot less then Nationwide had to pay, and a lot less then purchasing another vehicle. From start to finish, Nationwide was there the whole way. I did have issues with the dealerships staff, but that is nothing on Nationwide's behalf. I did inform Nationwide that I didn't care for the dealership and don't suggest them sending anyone there again. I'm sorry to hear you all had such a hard time with Nationwide, but I have had nothing but good luck.

Nationwide Is Great!

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 01, 2003

I have been an employee of Nationwide for 5 years and my family has been policy holders of Nationwide for centuries. I have had 2 hit and run accidents that weren't my fault and one at fault accident and have been pleased with the claims experience each time. I deal with customer complaints all the time and find that 99.9% of the complaints filed are unreasonable. Our company is out to become one of the best companies in the business and here in NC we have already proven that by being the #1 state in the company. Nationwide is a great company and their motto is very true. I have found that on alot of claims, Nationwides payoffs are much better that competive companies. If you're not happy with Nationwide, go to GEICO where you don't have an agent that can help you when you need it and see what kind of service you get. We don't need to hear your whining anyway.

Homeowner claim

AUTHOR: Marvin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 20, 2002

I had a claim with Nationwide Insurance. The hose from my ice maker burst over night spraying water all over my kitchen, in the walls, and into the living room. Nationwide provided an emergency plumber (at 6am) to stop the leak. They then paid for all my damages.

I think the problem the gentleman is having with his mold is that his problem has been happening over a long time. Its the homeowner's responsibility to take care of his property! Homeowner's insurance is for sudden emergencies, not for correcting neglect that a homeowner allowed to happen over years. Mold and wood rot take years to accumulate. Lazy homeowners beware! Fix your own problems, especially when you have a kid with asthma!! Not so smart!!

Ripped off by Nationwide

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, October 29, 2002

I had a water filter attached to the water line of my refrigerator that was defected (it leaked at the seam)caused wood rot, mold and water damage to wall and kitchen cabinets, mold spreading as I write..Nationwide in writing said they do not repair damage to my home caused by a appliance or plumbing device that caused wood rot, water damage or mold. This leak was taken care of asap as soon as we noticed, it was a latent, unforseen defect. The filter Company gave me a claim number, told me to file with my homeowners then give them the claim number. That is how Omni Filters handle it and Omni Filters asked me to fill out their form, mail it back with the filter (yaeh right , give them back the evidence). this has been going on since 10/08/02. my air in the house reeeks of mold...my son has asthma and my wife has had granuloumas disease of the lungs. I need help..Nationwide not on my side..they said the copy of the H/O ins info I had was old so they sent me another one 2 days later which was a Condo policy, I own a home how smart are they ???

Nationwide Insurance SUCKS

AUTHOR: Ronald - ()

POSTED: Thursday, April 04, 2002

On March 8, 2002 Byron Fuchs(insured by Nationwide Insurance) drove his buring car into my private driveway. His passenger told the police that shortly after he flicked his cigarette out the window, they pulled off the roadway because they smelled smoke. When they left to get help the car exploded and severely damaged two of my parked cars, garage siding, and asphalt pavement. Nationwide SUCKS because they claim that they are not liable for the loss because the driver wasn't negligent. I have spent countless hours trying to recover from my loss. Christian Harper, Dave Thomson, Tonia Smith,
from Nationwide Insurance have told to me to "get lost" to file a claim against my own policy or hire an attorney. The state insurance commissioners office sent me a letter stating that I have to allow them time to investigate.
Nationwide says it could take 6-8 months or they could drag it out for 2 years. This experience has caused me great trauma. Nationwide Insurance is a first class rip off operation.

POSTED: Sunday, March 24, 2002

I believe in Nationwide Insurance. Unlike most of the largest insurance companies they still handle claims face to face.

Most people have this golden figure of how much their car is worth and no matter what anyone says it's not worth a penny less than their GOLDEN FIGURE! Get over it!!!!

If you're so upset about what they're offerring you then you need to do your research on the matter.

we have had Nationwide for 7 years

POSTED: Thursday, January 03, 2002

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:

Their email: sbleckner@hotmail.com
Their name: stephanie bleckner

Their relationship to the company: Devotee

Rebuttal:
we have had Nationwide for 7 years now and my husband ran a red light and hit someone else and totalled their car. The truck was fixed in one week and their car was paid for and our rates never even got touched. Two years later they decided to sue us for medical injuries. Nationwide had it settled in less than two months. Again, no rate increase. Sorry you had a bad experience but I've had nothing but superb service from them.
