Signed contract with Howard at Nationwide Relocation on 5/6/2005. My fax was not working, so I physically mailed contract. Howard called saying he did not receive it. It turns out that the post office sent it back to me stating there is no such address of 1700 NW 64th St, Ste 400, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 33309. Prior to finally getting this back from the post office, I faxed the contract from an alternate fax machine, so I would not lose my space and date for move as I was told prices go up for moves on 6/1.

I also changed payment from debit card to credit card, by the grace of GOD. Nationwide emailed me last week to go over inventory list. I called back and did this. I was told I would get a call on 5/27 from dispatch to tell me who the movers were and when they would arrive, which was agreed on 5/31 in the morning. We do not live at our address in Missouri any longer. We have relocated to Louisiana. We had relatives drive 3 hours to our home in Missouri to meet movers on 5/31.

I am now going to back up here. Nobody from Nationwide EVER CALLED about pick-up, however on 5/30 around 4 pm, I got a call from Al's Mini Move, from San Antonio, TX. When I asked them with whom are they affiliated, because Howard told me that Mayflower and American Van Lines OWN National Relocation, the movers became hostile and defensive. I just asked a normal question. I did not want some rinky dink people, 2 guys and a truck with no insurance, picking up my posessions. At the end of the conversation, they said they would call 5-6 hours before arrival. Keep in mind, over the holiday weekend, nobody from Nationwide could be contacted.

So, 5/31 was here. Howard called in reponse to my Emails. He said that all he say was "sorry". Right, like that helps. Customer Service at this company is non-existent. I had to work all day, as well as my husband who has been ill. We spent more time on the phone trying to get a hold of somebody at this company than working in our sales positions to pay for a move that did not take place.

Al's mini-move hired by Nationwide cancelled my move because I asked if they were affiliated with a Nationally known company, which I had been promised by Howard at Nationwide Movers. NOT ONE PERSON at Nationwide, including HOWARD, notified me that my move was cancelled. I have a house closing this week!!!!!

I need for the furniture to be vacated from my home. I now need an attorney, and have spoken w/my credit card company to get my money back. These people are scum with the integrity of a snail. NEVER USE THESE PEOPLE. I spoke w/several people in the moving business today who relayed the same information.

If I knew I had to deal with this, I would have rented a U-Haul, hired professional movers, paid a ton for insurance, and driven the van myself.

POSTED: Thursday, June 02, 2005

To Whom It May Concern:

I was advised by the State Attorney General's Office of the State of Florida, that my complaint with Nationwide Relocation is governed by the Department of Agriculture in the State of Florida. My complaint is below. I am also filing a civil suit against them. Leanora Sone, a customer service supervisor at Nationwide Relocation, aka. www.movingcost.com, tried to bribe me as well. She asked me to drop any allegations of wrong doing on their part in order for me to get my money back for a move that did not occur with a company that has no license, bonding, insurance, and has been charged with drunken driving. This company they hired to move all of my family's belongings is Al's Mini Move, from San Antonio, TX.

For anyone else having disputes with this company, please contact the Department of Agriculture in the State of Florida. This is where you file complaints.

Explain Your Complaint Fully: I signed contract with Howard at Nationwide Relocation on 5/6/2005. My fax was not working, so I physically mailed contract. Howard called saying he did not receive it. It turns out that the post office sent it back to me stating there is no such address of 1700 NW 64th St, Ste 400, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 33309. When I asked them with whom are they affiliated, because Howard told me that Mayflower and North American Van Lines OWN National Relocation, the movers became hostile and defensive. I just asked a normal question. I did not want some rinky dink people, 2 guys and a truck with no insurance, picking up my posessions. At the end of the conversation, they said they would call 5-6 hours before arrival. Keep in mind, over the holiday weekend, nobody from Nationwide could be contacted at all. I have now learned that Al's Mini-Move is not licensed, insured, or bonded. They have also been cited for drunken driving. NOT ONE PERSON at Nationwide, including HOWARD, notified me that my move was cancelled. I have a house closing this week!!!!! I need the furniture to be vacated from my home. I now need an attorney, and have spoken w/my credit card company to get my money back. Nationwide says they will refund my money in 90 days.

What Would Satisfy Your Complaint?: I want my money back, plus the hotel bills that I was required to pay for my family to wait for the movers that never showed. Now, I need to hire people to assist with a new moving company and pay hotel bills again. I think the refund on the deposit, plus $1,000 would be satisfactory. If they want to end up in court and pay attorney fees, fine, but it will be all on them. I have emails, faxes, documentation of phone calls, names of persons employed by their company, and many people upset with the company as witnesses.

I was also bribed by Nationwide Relocation. They asked me if they refunded my $754.88 for failing to move my items and stealing my money, would I drop any complaints I have against them and their practices? This was asked by Leanora Sone, a customer service supervisor at Nationwide Relocation. My answer is, "No." I want my money back and compensation. If they want to end up on Judge Judy or People's Court, fine. I am standing by the fact that this company lied to me and stole my money, plus cost me additional funds as a result of this

Do you authorize DOACS to send a copy of complaint to the business you are complaining against or any other government agency for purposes of mediation, investigation or enforcement?: Yes

Have you read 'FALSE OFFICIAL STATEMENTS' provided in the Florida Statutes?: Yes

Have you read the paragraph regarding the role of the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in providing assistance to you?: Yes

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Nationwide NOT affiliated with Mayflower

AUTHOR: Sharon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, June 01, 2005

"Howard told me that Mayflower and American Van Lines OWN National Relocation"

Nationwide Relocation is owned by the same people that own American Van Lines, which is a rinky-dink scam mover also located in FL, not a major, nationally-known van line. But Mayflower does not figure into the equation at all. You should send a note to Mayflower's HQ that this well-documented scam broker is using their recognized name to get jobs.

Al's MiniMove is a tiny, one-truck comapny that has already lost its license once in two years. One of their drivers was pulled over for drunk driving, and another was ticketed for not bieng licensed to drive the truck he was in. They were probably afraid if you found out who they REALLY were, you would not use them. Scammers hate an informed customer.
