My name is Crystal and I have recently been made aware by a financial institution that I have a claim on my credit report that dates back from 2000 from NCO Financial in Horsham, PA.

The claim I have is supposedly from a medical bill that I had before I was married and in college in 9/1999. I have not received any kind of bill, letter, etc. from the company I am said to owe this money too and I have written letters to NCO with Copies of receipts and cancelled checks for this date and after this date but am yet to receive any response.

I too have called them several times and when I do finally get to speak with someone they act like I'm crazy and just tell me to send a letter to the Dispute department when I say that I have then they in turn say well we have no documentation of that so you'll have to send another one.

This is getting very ridiculous for me and the postage is beginning to add up. Tonight I was searching the internet to make sure I had the right address for them and I'm so glad I did because I found this website. The worst part of this is that my husband is active duty in the Marines and just received orders so we are moving and when we applied for a loan for a house this popped up again which let me know it still has not been resolved.

I now see I'm not the only one out there who has had trouble with these crooks, cons, whatever they are and I plan on filing a complaint myself with the FTC. I urge anyone else who has had trouble to do the same. I'm still working on this to get it resolved and I have been doing so since March of this year with no response to my efforts. I will post again if I do get some sort of response from these individuals.

** Sounds Familiar **

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

This sounds remarkably similar to the case previously mentioned regarding Eastern Emergency Physicians. In that instance, the ER doctors billed separately from the other ER charges.

Why it went to a different address is puzzling. But the previous case also envolved NCO MEDCLR.

I would like to just say that finally after months of dealing with these crooks that I got my situation resolved and they removed my info from the credit bureaus. This occurred after I was hung up on and had to call to find out that it had even been resolved after many months and paying to send my receipts etc. certified mail. BEWARE!!!!!!

I had same problem - now have it semi-resolved

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 22, 2005

I had the same problem w/ NCO - medical bills from 1999, 2001 and 2002 - none ever showed on my credit report - then magically in 2005 they appear. I started getting letters from NCO and the collection showed up on my credit report. They were telling me that these charges were the "doctor charges" for hospital visits and were billed separately from the "emergency room charges".

Funny thing is - all of these invoices for the doctor charges were sent to an address that I had never heard of - yet magically all of the hospital charges went to my correct address, were filed w/ my insurance and paid.

NCO told me that they got the address from the hospital so it is not their fault that I never received a bill because they never got the bills back in the mail as undeliverable.

How I resolved - I disputed the information on my credit report. I wrote NCO several nasty letters and copied the credit bureaus on all of them. I also reported NCO to the BBB. The BBB investigated and was unable to get a response from NCO (as did most of the credit bureaus which led to 2 of 3 removing the info from my credit report.) I finally rec'd a letter from:

John Emmons
Compliance Officer
NCO Financial Systems, Inc.
150 Crosspoint Parkway
Crosspoint Business Park
Getzville, NY 14088

stating that I did owe the money - but in his 2nd paragraph he says "we have contacted the credit bureaus with which we do business with our request to delete our listing of the above accounts from your credit profile..."

I wrote this gentleman back requesting a copy of the letter b/c I suspect that it had never been written. I never heard back from him or anyone else at NCO. However, I have not contacted by NCO since May of this year (when I got the letter) and I was able to take his letter and send it to the credit bureaus so that it was removed completely from my credit profile.

I think persistence is key with this company. I happen to work in the legal field so I write a decent letter thru experience, I think that will help if you know someone who can help you out in that way.

Any questions - feel free to ask! (Oh yeah, the company that it showed as me owing was "NCO Medclr" which is a sub-division of NCO Financial)
