I was moving from Florida to Alabama. I scheduled a date and time for the movers to pick up and deliver my belongings. They were suppose to be there early in the morning but decided to show up around 5pm. We planned on staying in Georgia with family until our furniture arrived in Alabama. But, because they took until midnight to finish loading, we had to drive in the middle of the night very exhausted. This is only the beginning....

They told us the furniture would be there the next day, so we left Georgia to go to Alabama but they never showed up. The moving truck had never left Florida and did not deliver my stuff until three days later. I had to shuffle my family and dog around to hotels while I am in a wheelchair. By the way, this was right before Christmas. Finally, when our stuff got there we realized that there was only one mover! That's it, not four, not three, not two, but one! One guy to move a large four bedroom house! He actually had to knock on my neighbors' doors and beg for them to help move the heavy furniture. We had to wait around until this guy could find someone off the street to help him. When I asked him why in the world he would come by himself, his response was that he hires people off the street all the time! Wow! Are you kidding? This is a trained, professional moving company?

This not only endangered my family by allowing strangers into our home but it also allowed inexperienced movers to damage my stuff! But the icing on the cake, instead of discounting my bill for the botched up move, they actually handed me a bill that was $700 more than our agreed price!! This place is a scam and could care less what happens to your belongings. My advice is to do extensive research before hiring your next moving company! It is not worth risking all of your belongings, memories and valuables.

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING?

AUTHOR: Richard - (U.S.A.)

I appreciate your update but are you kidding? This company is the biggest ripoff in moving to date. I have first hand experience that they price gouge, are dishonest, misleading and promise you one thing and deliver NOTHING! When I explained to them in detail ALL the problems we recently had with our move they could care less. Basically told me to go **** myself.

I filed a complaint with the BBB and they even lied to them. This company has an "F" rating with the BBB and 57 complaints. Even the BBB findings are posted and list them as a company to stay away from.

I am glad if they took care of YOU, but believe me when I tell you, you are one of the few!

ALL CONSUMERS SHOULD AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!

Neighbors Moving and Storage: WE STAND BY THIS COMPANY...

AUTHOR: Readthis - (U.S.A.)

I stated before that I would not hire this moving company again. However, after taking the initiative to resolve the problem without hesitation, I would not risk NOT hiring this company again!

They really stepped up to do the right thing and refunded us a large portion of our money. A very helpful lady from the Claims Department, sales coordinator, and even the owner himself contacted us immediately and offered a sincere apology along with a solution to the problem. We were VERY satisfied with this company for listening to our concerns and, most importantly, for resolving the issues in a professional and timely manner to our satisfaction.

After hearing that they were deeply sorry and bothered that we were disappointed, I have come to suspect that Neighbors Moving and Storage is not one to provide a less than perfect service. Our perception of this company was indeed wrong and I would also like to add that there were many positive things this company offered which other companies lacked. For instance, the movers took the time to carefully wrap each item to prevent damage, the sales coordinator was outstanding, and the total price of the move (before the refund) was very reasonable. In fact, it was the lowest price we found!

All companies are bound to make mistakes, but in the end it is how they resolve the problem. Make sure you hire a company that is willing to compensate you if a problem does arise. This company lives up to that and this story proves it!
