I entered a contract with Neopost some 3 years ago.  My first issue was with reoccurring late fees, when the payments were sent through my bank account electronically.  My bank service indicates the date of arrival and they were on time.  However, Neopost would not process the payment until the day after they were due, and then charge me a $30 late fee!  I called them on this, and they reversed the payment. The second time they told me I only got one "grace period" and so they  would not reverse the amount again, when they sat on processing the payment.  They did this three more times.  I was told to pay with them directly online, but the first time I did, there were several places with the word invoice and none of them showed any invoices with payments due.  In fact, it said I owed nothing.  So then I called yet again, and told to send an email, and it would be sent to the department who could process it, months later no response.  I continue to pay directly with them, but seriously, every month, their website has the different buttons moved around so its always an ordeal figuring out where exactly one pays the amount due.  Its under "My NeoFunds" and not under any section that is entitled Invoices.

The next issue a man showed up at my home office, claiming to be from Neopost to update my software.  He had no appointment, no nothing.  So I told him to leave, I had no idea who he was or why he was at my house.  He sat outside my house and called me right then, saying he wanted an appointment!  So I complained to them again, and told that they would get back to me.  Never heard from them again.

The next thing is cancellation of the contract.  I received an email telling me "they had my back" and asked me to sign up for another 3 year period.  I responded that I wanted to cancel the contract, and I thought it was not expiring until November.  I was then told that was correct, but I had to give notice 90 days out, and only by calling a certain number, with a certain extension.  So I faxed a letter with all account information with my cancellation notice, some 105 days away from the end of contract period.  So then I get an email back from the renewal department telling me that the fax was no good, I had to call the specific number to cancel.  Really!  So I call, and as expected am on hold for 15 minutes.  I tried to put the phone on speaker, but unlike most businesses, the sound is completelty blacked out while on speaker, so I had to hold the phone to hear if anyone comes on, preventing me from continuing with work.  So I email the person who told me the fax was no good, and told her I was calling the Attorney General of Texas, because it was an obvious ploy to prevent me from cancelling the contract.  Within a minute of sending the email, the person on the cancellation line picks up, and tells me, I am not making this up--I have to put it in writing for the post office!!  But even though I have emailed and sent a letter by fax and USPS, the email has to go to her.  I insist that she emailed me, and that I would stay on the line until it was received, to avoid any claim they never received my email.  All she needed was for me to give them a pick up date and location.  We will see if they show up or try to pull anything else in the meantime.

Every step was designed to prevent cancellation, and perpetual payment, along with perpetual late fee regardless of when the payment was made.  They should be put out of business.
