Ridiculous.
I ate a butterfinger bar multiple months ago which had some marketing promotion for "Rocketcash" where you register and input a special code found on the wrapper and see if you've won a prize (or at least get points towards some sort of prize--that you can maybe collect one day if you ingest enough chocolate to kill an elephant). Curiosity got the best of me and I signed up against my common sense.
Needless to say I made sure to de-select whatever "Yes, please send me the newsletter!" box (which is always conveniently pre-selected for you). Naturally I was still put on the mailing list despite my selection. I HAVE TRIED TO UNSUBSCRIBE AT LEAST THREE TIMES (but more likely 4 or 5 at this point) BUT THEY CONTINUE TO SEND ME EMAILS WHICH IS ILLEGAL AND ANNOYING.
At least I know that most marketing executives will enjoy a long slow burning afterlife in hell, that'll make me feel better about the whole thing.
