Well NET10 is a phone service that provide prepaid phones and calling time. You have the option of paying for time, or a certain amount of time for each month. I like the fact that there is no contract, I also do not like to use credit cards so the prepaid model would work best for me if I did not feel as if I were constantly getting ripped off.

I have been purchasing the 750 minutes for a month cards at Walgreens, Cumberland Farms, and Best Buy. At the end of each month or when my minutes are getting close to ending I will receive alerts that I need to add time. If you end up running out of time before you have a chance to buy a card to recharge your minutes NET10 is not very forgiving, and they shut your phone off and you have to call their tech support for them to turn your service back on. So the recommendation is to pay your minutes ahead before your time runs out. You buy a 750 minutes card, you go to add airtime, you enter the code, and then it will say processing your minutes, then it will say your minutes have been added and that when you are ready to use them you go back to add airtime on your phone menu and then enter 438, and then they will turn on your minutes.

My issue is this:

Every month I add minutes and do the recommended process of doing it before the minutees run out. When I enter the purchased code, then enter 438 they take away any of my minutes that I already paid for. That is usually just a few minutes so I have been accepting of that even though it bothers me every month and makes me feel ripped off.

Now the new thing they (NET10) have been doing is as soon as I enter the purchased code they process that and apply, NO LONGER DOES NET10 INFORM ME TO ENTER 438 WHEN I AM READY TO USE MY MINUTES. They process the minutes and delete whatever you have for remaining minutes. This makes me very angry.

This month I was using more minutes texting than usual, so I saw my minutes going away quickly, I had 230 minutes remaining and 17 days, so to stay ahead of having my phone shut off, I purchased a new 750 minute card for twenty five dollars, then I put the code in, and then NET10 processed and deleted my remaining 230 minutes and 17 days that were remaining. I was without any doubt RIPPED OFF BY NET10.

I contacted NET10 by email, received no response. I contacted tech support also by email and received no response, I submitted a request through NET10's web site and received no response. I really do not want to talk on the phone with NET10 tech support with a mexican or indian that cannot understand me and spend countless hours doing that.

I want NET10 to stop ripping me off.

I am sure they are doing this to others, it cannot just be me and looking at the other posters on ripoffreport.com this has happened to others.

I like the service NET10 provides and would like to continue to be a customer of theirs, but I would like to be treated as a customer, and be treated with respect. I am sure NET10 knows that there are other companies I can choose, or maybe stop using cell phones all together because this is getting to the point where I may just do that.

Can NET10 fix that?

First Tmobile has nothing to do with Net10, Net 10 is actually backed by Verizon or ATT depending on when you bought your phone.

But what I get is you use all functions of the phone but only buy minute cards....why?  If your using everything then buy a monthly plan card.  I'm willing to bet all you saw are the prices and didn't think about what you'd be using the phone for but you kept buy the wrong type of plans.  Of course they aren't gonna give you a refund you keep using exactly what your buying.

When you add time they give you two choices:

1.  Put the payment in reserve

2.  Making them active that day

You keep choosing #1
