I am a recent college graduate and I was looking for some stay at home work that would work around my families schedule. I happened to do a resume on livecareers.com and was suddenly getting a ton of emails from work from home places that all were scams.

Then I got this email:

So I decided to check it out and I could not find anything saying it was a scam. So I set up the interview and it went really good. They offer you $18 an hour for paid training and then $28 an hour there after. Work as much or as little hours as you want. I was interviewed by a Mr. Barry Jones for 3 hours. He told me the company would supply me with everything I needed (desk, filing cabnites, laptop, software and a bunch of other stuff). I was asked how I wanted my pay checks deposited and I told them no deposits, send me weekly checks. The next thing I knew I was getting a check in the mail for $2,100. I was told I had to go straight to my bank's ATM and deposit the checks. I was told not to take it inside as they wanted the funds to be avaialbe right away. However my bank is not located in CA so I had to mail it in. This made Mr. Jones angry and he started pushing me to go out an open a new bank account so they could send me another check.

This went on for a few days as Mr. Jones did not like the fact that I mailed the check by standard mail and that the bank would hold it until the funds cleared. At this point red flags were really going off. I called the REAL NetComm Wireless based in Austrailia and Spoke with a representative that informed me that these people are NOT affiliated with them in any way and they do NOT offer jobs working from home. They had no idea this was going on.

I then called my bank and informed them of what was going on and had them flag the check. I told Mr. Jones I opened a new account so he would mail me another check that I could have verified as fake. Once I got the mail, it was no longer a business check but a cashiers check. I called the issuing bank and discovered that it was NOT issued by them and a fake. I then called my bank back and they had recieveed the check and verified that it was fake as well.  Nothing on the checks or the FedEx Packages said NetComm on them, each one had something different listed as a business name.

I stil had not informed Mr. Jones or Mr. Ortega that I knew what was going on. I started to recieve phone calls from a Mr. Kennedy Willams demanding I get online right away to speak with Mr. Jones about getting the chack cashed, and "purchasing" my supplies. The calls kept comming in back to back for over an hour straight. Then I wold get text messages demanding me to get online.

After speaking to both banks and the police the scam is this:

Get you to deposit the check and before it actualy clears the bank, spend it as quickly as possible for "supplies" that will never get to you and then once the bank catches it, it is too late as you are now overdrawn by $2,100!

I am glad that I caught this before I lost anything other then my time. I am not one to spend money before it clears anyways so the fact that they kept pressing me to get it done and "purschase" my things immedatly was sending red flags right away. They also asked me what my daily spending limits were, my account information over and over again.

The problem too is that my information is on my resume and that is how they got my address. From now on my resume will NOT have my personal information other then email and phone number!

But since there are NO other reports out there to warn people I felt I should be the first.

Now mind you there really is a NetComm Wireless in Austrailia, but they do NOT outsorce to the US for at home work. Not only are these people scamming innocent people who want to do legitimate work from home, but they are also making a bad name for the real NetComm Wireless.

If you get a job offer email, ignore it! You can also email Stephanie Wilson at Stephanie.Wilson@netcommwireless.com and let her know about it. They had no idea it was going on and should be informed so they can also try to put a stop to it.

I have filed a police report, this report, send the first bad check to the bank and they are investigating it, and am mailing the fake cashiers check to the "issuing" banks so they can have it in their posession for investigation as well.

I hope that these people will eventually be caught and prosecuted. I also hope no one else falls victim to them and I hope that this report will help people stay away!

I'm a single mother of 4 children which that all under age. I almost barely gotten ripped off my this fraud company. Please be aware of a Mr. Kennedy an Mr. Barry and a Mr. Jones whom are all fraud an made up people.  They get your resume off livecareer.com an they start with the emails an text meassages stating abouit a job offer for a wireless company working from 8am-1pm or 2pm-7pm with a pay of $28 an hour.  This is a scam dont fall for it.

These people had me go out an open an bank account. They fed ex a check cashiers check for $2, 100 which came next day I went to deposit the check in my account an there was a hold but when it ckeared it came out to be counterfit. This makes me owe my bank an account overdrawn so what i had to do is take copies of the check from my bank an went to my local police department an made a report. My bank also has been involved in taking matters to the next step with the law.
