I had been considering signing up fro Netflix Movie service. I went to their website and found they offered a free trial but they required a credit card as you would be charged after the first 30 day trial should you not cancel.

Well, imagine my shock when I found they hit my credit card not once, not twice but THREE TIMES!!! Charges totaled around $26.

I called Netflix and was told that a person at my APARTMENT address has already had a free trial some time ago so they automatically charged ME for a retro month back then, plus they automatically charged me for the current month plus a fee to see if the credit card was valid.

Do not give these unethical people your credit card number !!! Save yourself the grief of trying to get your money back. Just don't give them your credit card number! A company that acts in this sort of unethical manner cannot be trusted.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Go to your credit card company

AUTHOR: Mykl - (United States of America)

Since you were not notified of any charged beyond what you would pay after 30 days, file a dispute with the credit card company. You can fax this or email it, you can even send it with your bill. Once this is in place they investigate. But some companies only give you 60 days from the date the charge hit so you need to get it filed before the 60 days is up. i do this all the time. Since I'm a good customer and the amount may be less than $50, they usually waive it as it would cost too much to investigate just to find out I'm right anyways. This is one of the pluses of having excellent credit.
