Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

Netflix charges for the Free Trial.
The wording on this free offer is so vague that many people continue to complain about this tactic.
If Netflix's terms are so clear, then why are so many complaining about it?


Otherwise, you WILL BE CHARGED!!!

If you dig further & look at their terms of use, you will see that under certain conditions, you will be charged.

The offer is misleading.

This is the wording they use:

"Your free 2 week Netflix membership will begin when you click on "Start Membership" during the registration process. Simply cancel anytime during your 2 week free membership, and you will not be charged. To cancel, click on "Your Account" and follow the simple cancellation instructions. If you are enjoying Netflix, do nothing and your membership will automatically continue at the monthly subscription rate for the plan you selected. The FREE Trial offer cannot be combined with any other offer. Limit one per household. First-time customers only. Valid payment method required. See Terms of Use for complete membership details."

What's deceptive about that?

Netflix flat out tells you that they will place a hold against your card for about one month of service. If you decide to remain a member, you get charged that amount. If you cancel, they release the hold and you don't pay anything.

Getting a 2 week membership without having to pay for it sounds like a free membership to me. Nothing misleading or deceptive about that.

everything is clearly stated right there and if you chose to read it at the time you agreed to start the free trial, you would have known that. when i first signed up for netflix, i knew that if i did not cancel before the trial period was over that my debit card would be charged for a month of service....because i read everything before i signed up! i have had netflix for several years and never had an issue. i love it and plan on keeping it for as long as they are in business. i pay them a total of $18.01 and get unlimited rentals for the month and get 3 dvd's at a time. so much cheaper than renting at the video store!

There is NOTHING deceptive or fraudulent about Netflix. All free trials (Yes, all of them) convert to a "new account" unless you cancel before the trial period ends. That's what it says in the terms and conditions that unfortunately no one reads. It appears you didn't read them until afterwards. Why do you think they want your credit card number for? Their health? Stop blaming everyone else...this is your stupidity, not Netflix.
And before I get the "you must work for them" morons...I don't. Never have.
If people would read before they commit they'd be far less baseless complaints. It's just frustrating to see so many 75 IQ mouth-breathers whine about problems of their own making.
