One Day before christmas, I deposited money on the Netspend all access prepaid visa card. When I got my balance, it told me I was over 500 dollars in the negative. Basically what happened is the cash advances I got almost a month ago showed up as duplicate charges. When I called up the number, I told them to take the duplicats off. they said first that I kept using card and made the charges. I then proceeded to use logic. "How can I use the card with no money on it"? I said. Bottom line is I have to wait 2 days before I can use that money because they have a process. they need a letter from my bank stating that they are not going to put through the pending charges on the banks letterhead.
The strange this is the pending charges are on their after almost a month. Using a debit or credit card at a regular bank, it takes 3-5 days before a pending charge drops off the account if it is not posted by the bank. Like when a merchant verfys your identity with a credit card a charges $1. that charge will drop off in a few days because the merchant wont post it.
Netspend does not do that. They keep it the pending charges on for a month. Then when you tell them to reverse the pending charge because it has already posted with the bank, Netspend gives you the run around.
I cut up my card and wil not use that pre pay anymore.
THere is only one other place that I found is alot worse than netspend, that is MOMENTUM. Never ever use MOMENTEM, or netspend.

Finally got my money back

AUTHOR: Daryl - (U.S.A.)

I called this morning, the day after christmas. Of course they were not going to do what they told me they were going to do. I got irrate enough to get transerfered to a senior advisor. He patronized me alittle and asked why the transactions were pending. I was thinking to myself, is this guy stupid. How the hell am I going to know why it is like this. I preceeded to tell him that Netspend keeps transaction for 30 days where regulars banks keep them 3-5 days. He took that as not being coraporative. I almost went off on him. I told him I don't know why it is like that. Then he reversed the pending transactions. My question is, why couldn't this happend 2 days ago, on christmas eve. They basically hindered my christmas. Screw them. I cut up the card, emailed cashland, and email netspend. Wont be using them anymore. Bunch a pricks. I advice if your in the situation, keep calling and asking for a senior advisor. If they say they are going to email someone to take care of it, resolving in 24-48 hours, don't believe it. Say ok and call back asking for a senoir advisor.
