I am puzzled and increasingly suspicious of the policies of Network For Good and have not been able to get clarification.

Network For Good purports to be a sort of clearing house for charitable donations and on the surfae this seems to work.  It charges a 5% fee for its servies--OK  However, after accepting donations on line for various charities individually charged to a credit card:

1. First, it lists the donations in a report to the donor individually but charges them all on the credit card as going to the first charity in the "bundle" sent to NFG, which is confusing to the IRS in reporting charitable donations for itemized deductuctions, but more importantly,

2. It then sits on these donations for as much apparently as a month, before it forwards each donation by US Mail as a paper check to the designated charity.  This has one obvious effect, namely that the recipient fails to get an expected donation or renewal of commitment and wastes money sending out reminders and re-pleas while the donor is led to believe that his contribution was never received.

AND, even more importantly, NFG has sat on that donation--and presumably earned interest or other investment income on it--for weeks to over a month.  (I have finally received acknowledgement from recipients of donations i made through NFG in December!, stating that the donation ras received in February).

Whether or not NFG is taking advantage (running a version of the "float" scam) or not, it should be expected to use the 5% fee to promptly forward online the donations it has received online.

Otherwise the whole operation really doesn't pass the smell test
