This man is a fraud but stays in business becuase he's a smooth operator. Network-International Models and Talent can thrive because in the little fine print, somewhere, it's stated that they are NOT an agency but rather a school. A school where you take the necessary "tools" for a fee and apply them in your modeling career. On paper this makes Patrick an "honest" man but off paper he's a creepy self-indulged man.
I remember when I started it seemed a little too easy to get in. I was told I had a "look" and I needed to get some pictures taken and there were "lots and lots of booking just waiting for me". Patrick knows his demographical market (Scottsdale, AZ) can afford the fees he asks. Most of these kids have rich mommies and daddies who can fork out the dough (Like mine did). I was only 18 at the time and naive to the world.
So after a week of being signed on, I get a call from this man that he wants to extend a "personal invitation" to go to New York City. Now any (naive) aspiring model will practically pee in her pants at this prospect and I immediately said I was interested. This invitiation was supposedly only offered to the "cream of the crop" of the agency.
I get there and most of these people were extremely average and nothing like what I'd call model material. It was all about the $$$.
So he introduces himself and it turns out that this New York opportunity was actually a huge modeling convention where tons of recruiters would be there.... and a lot of the time models just fly to Europe and model from the convention and don't return home. We sat through a cheezy video then all had to do a video audition where we had to answer interview questions for 2 hours before we found out how much this would cost.
$4,000 roughly.
This 4,000 included "CLASSES" (
I pulled out having enough common sense that this was baloney. This man was creepy and only out for himself.
Karma is right around the corner, Pat, and you know exatly the things you have done. Good luck.
Katrina.
