In the spring of 2008 I purchased a battery operated lawn mower from Neuton Power Company and even bought TWO batteries at the companys recommendation. I was a new widow and believed the companys claim that I would save money and avoid the hassle of a gas mower that might not start every time. I was happy with the mowers performance season #1. But see what happens in season #2.

I followed the recommendations regarding the batteries. I kept them charged but by late August 2009 the mower did not work. I went online one Saturday and via live chat I was advised that the company would call me the following Monday with an appointment at a repair shop near my home where I could take my mower for a diagnosis/repair. I NEVER got the call. A week + later I called Neuton. This time I spoke to a tech person who had no answer as to why the first employee had not noted his conversation with me, nut she did send me to a repair shop (Ganos in Colchester, CT) some 40 miles away.

Ok. As directed I took my mower, 2 batteries and battery charger in and then WAITED. I called and was rudely advised Id be called when they had an answer. I waited another week and called. Rudely told a single battery had been ordered as my battery was no good. (The man on the phone was not certain if both batteries had been tested.) So a week later I called Neuton upset that the battery /batteries would be shot after just over one year (and out of warranty). I called Ganos and learned BOTH batteries were shot and the new ONE he ordered would be $89.00 plus $14.00 shipping. Now I am really upset and call Neuton again and am told it would be very unusual to have two batteries dies in such a short time, so the tech person said she would call Ganos again.  (The representative admitted I had followed instructions but she offered a better way that I could have cared for them.)

When I speak with her again I express how displeased I am with her company and the false impression their website had about the life of their equipment. AND she had nothing to offer except to send me a battery at a discount price but the shop had already purchased a battery. She responded by saying she would turn this over to her supervisor and I would get a call after I said I was still unhappy and would use the Internet to let the world know that Neuton products are JUNK. No call back yet so here is my report! DONT believe what Neuton promises about their mowers, especially the batteries.  And  the company doesnt care!
