The New Jersy Gas & Electric sucked us in soliciting low ball electric rates undercutting JCP&L KWH charges for electric power. The rates climed significantly over time and by the time we orderd a switch to another provider New Jersey Gas & Electric really stuck it to us on the final bill...

Since it takes many weeks and sometimes months between meter readings on actual KWH electric usage. New Jeersey Gas & Electric charged almost 2x what JCP&L would have charged on our final bill.

Be advised this is a unregulated market New Jersey Gas & Electric Co are scammers and should not be allowed to be doing business in NJ or anywhere. When calling for help thier agents can barly speak english and its a shame that law enforcement cant arrest these pirates for being energy criminals.

My attorney is looking into prosecution possibilities and a report is filed with NJ BPU.

Unfair rates at New Jersey Gas & Electric a regular practice of fraud and corruption

AUTHOR: W. Page - ()

POSTED: Friday, January 31, 2014

A example of the extent of New Jersey Gas & Electric rip off style is on our final bill they charges over .17 per KWH vs JCP&L's .10 per KWH...

Obviously this increase came a long way from when they lured us in a year earlier at less then half that amount for KWH electric provisioning.

When competition was introduced in the electric and gas business it was designed for cuatomers to have choices not to be scammed by pirates like NJG&E it was intended for honest competition.

Honesty is something New Jersey Gas & Electric knows very little about,.,

Its a shame that this form of corruption is allowed in a State like NJ!

It would help for my State legislator MR Connors and Senators Menendez and possibly the Governors office to look into this scam.

What does the contract YOU signed with them say about the rate structure?

AUTHOR: Ken - ()

Are they following the contract or fraudulently disregarding it?  Many people in states that previously had regulated monopoly providers complained about the lack of competion and forced and open market for energy and have gotten way more than they bargained for.  This same scenario plays out in Texas and other states.

"Since it takes many weeks and sometimes months between meter readings on actual KWH electric usage. New Jeersey Gas & Electric charged almost 2x what JCP&L would have charged on our final bill.

Are you comparing apples to apples here?  How many days/months was the final bill for and would that be a comparable time period for you previous provider? To restate it, what was the difference in price PER KILLOWATT HOUR?

"My attorney is looking into prosecution possibilities and a report is filed with NJ BPU."

What is your attorney's name and please let us know on Ripoff Report the venue and docket number of your case against them so we can all see how that works out.  What is this "attorney" charging you for all this?
