Newegg Rejected RMA on DOA motherboard Claimed User damage to motherboard as a reason to reject my exchange request. internet
I spent a little over $1900 dollars on parts for a Xeon System build. Most everything looked fine out of the box, but when I installed the motherboard, I got a nice little CATT LED lit red telling me that the board was dead. This is an ASUS Z9PE-D16/2L SSI EEB Server Motherboard with Dual Xeon LGA 2011 sockets. So I sent in the RMA request to swap out the motherboards -I just figure I got a bad one. It happens from time to time.
Now before I go any further. I am an IT Manager, and this build was for my own personal system. I've been a Comptia certified A+ service technician since 1996. I'm not a hobby pc builder --I do technology work for a living. Keep that in mind when you read the response their RMA department sent back about the board. And I quote:
"Motherboard was received with apparent end-user caused physical damage to CPU socket contact pins, received with signs of installation. [continued below]....
