News 1130 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada has been censoring listener comments or preventing comments altogether for their posted stories on their website.I have complained many times to the radio station, but I never received any response, and nothing changed. The censorship continued. Also, some of News1130's stories were not accurate. Either they did not allow comments at all, or they would censor them for no good reason! Complaints were ignored.

Finally, I had enough, and posted a complaint onto the "Yelp.ca" website. To my surprise, my complaint on the Yelp website was removed stating that someone had complained. As a result, I was informed by the Yelp censors that I was not allowed to put names of employees onto the Yelp website. This was regarding a story News1130 posted of former employee Ron Bencze.
Ron Bencze was being charged with sexual assault of young children. Also, Mr. Bencze was a former employee. So what is the problem? Some time went by, and the censorship and ignoring listener complaints continued.
Finally, I had enough and I called the station to find out who was in charge of the station. To my surprise, I found out that the person in charge was Geoff Poulton, and that he was located down east in Ontario. Mr. Poulton works for Roger's Communications which is the owner of News1130 in Vancouver, British Columbia.

In addition, I found out that Treena Wood was in charge of the censorship of the News1130 stories.

I had complained many times to Treena Wood in the past, but I was ignored.
As a result, I emailed Treena Wood and Geoff Poulton and I informed them that I was going to put them on the Ripoff Report website and that the truth would finally come out! Mr. Poulton never responded. I find this to be very arrogant and very disrespectful.

I did finally receive an email from Treena Wood explaining that Mr. Poulton asked her to respond. Treena Wood said that they had changed the way the comments were controlled as they had changed to the "Capcha" system. As a result, comments would only be removed if a listener flagged the comment. I informed Treena Wood that was not good enough since anyone could complain because they did not like a comment and the censorship would continue. I added that I felt that the censorship was politically motivated. I believe that  communication companies such as Roger's has the government of Canada in their back pocket. It is amazing what money can do! Moreover, I informed Treena Wood and Geoff Poulton that I would no longer listen to News1130 and that I would boycott anything owned by Roger's Communications. I have kept my word. I cancelled my cell phone previously, and I now listen to radio stations not owned by Roger's Communications.

Roger's could do without employees like Treena Wood, and dictators like Geoff Poulton. Because these two employees ignored my complaints for so long, I am never going to do business with this company in my lifetime. I encourage others who are fed up with Roger's and any of their companies like News1130 to boycott them as well! When companies  get too big and ignore their customers, it is time for a change of management and customer relations. If this does not happen, it is time for the customer to move on. I did and I have no regrets!!!!
