I called Nextel to change our plan from 1000 anytime minutes to zero minutes leaving only direct connect. I called a second time to cancel the previous request. (Both calls were before the billing date so no changes were to take place) As a result of these two phone calls, our calling plan went from 1000 anytime minutes to .34 cents per minute X 1400 minute = $700.00 phone bill. An Increase of $500.00. That's Five Hundred Dollars we will probably never see again. And if we want to keep our phone we better pay the bill. Or we could pay $150.00 to cancel. And as a result of the (non-authorized) change in our plan, we are committed to an additional year of service.
There was a complaint filed. We couldn't get a refernce number. Nothing in writing. No last name of the Rep.
My research is showing that credits to customers are not the norm. And that I'm not the only one experiencing this kind of robbery. Even your complaint form indicates a cellular company as a culpret.
Is there anyone out there who can get these companies to be accountable? Am I just getting this off my chest or is there some real help out there? We're being robbed in broad daylight.
