As my name suggests, I am a ticked off manager with NHCD. Yes, I still work with them, but not for long. Don't want to walk away until I have something solid to walk to if you know what I mean. But, something was "announced" today that is so disturbing that I had to post it here. I normally do not post, but this is way too big.

Today it was announced that our pay is being cut. And cut in a big way. First, Senior managers are losing their bonus of $100 per week, as well as their "base" of $455. In addition, all regular and senior managers are all paid "contact pay" ( not dental leads ), which means that when a lead is contacted by sales, we get an additional $1 to what we were already paid on that lead from our group.

Well no longer. If our group sales rate is not at 12%, we get NO contact pay. Yep, none at all. This is a hefty part of our checks, about 40%. So, if you normally make $400, you will probably get about $250 or so now.

The UPSIDE to all of this as presented by SB and AE is:
IF we are at 15%, which is pretty hard to achieve, then we do get the contact pay plus a nice bonus... but that won't be happening. Looking at current and past SR reports, it shows the majority of managers are not at 12 OR 15 % on a regular basis.

Why the changes? It was presented as that we need to cut our budget. So lets cut the managers pay. Lovely.

And it does not stop there. Oh no, its even better for our hard working reps. Lead generators, if not at 9% sales closing ratio, will no longer get their current pay. They will now be paid $4 per lead if they are not at 9% or above. Lovely.

Looking forward to having to tell my hard working reps that they just received a paycut right along side of me.

I've enjoyed my time at NHCD, but I am in shock and numb at the fact that they reward all of us for our hard work by cutting pay, cutting reps pay, and all the while probably laughing all the way to the bank.

To all of you other "ex" managers, boy do I see why you left and I only hope I'm able to find something that is decent in the pay department, but more importantly respects its employees and understands that if they want us to be loyal to them, they need to be loyal to us.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

I agree to a point Tracey

AUTHOR: Leasa - (U.S.A.)

But again, I have previous management experience. I ran a liquor store by myself, was office manager for a Terminex office ect....Life in management was awesome for the first year or so. I had no problem having a huge team that was producing huge numbers. It wasnt until all the changes came along that required everyone to wonder what tomorrows "recruiting script" would hold. If you think that getting a new script to follow once a month or so was bad, try 2 or 3 new scripts a week! The recruiters were confused, mad and discouraged. If they interviewed someone on Monday with script A and set up a call back for Wednesday, by Wednesday they were given script B to use and had to tell the "applicant" that things had changed, they had to pay money now, or a different amount, or whatever the change was and usually lost the "sale".

Everything that happened is poor management. But only on the highest level. The managers had to go with what the corporate office handed down. If you chose not to, you paid the price which was usually your job.

I wonder how long it will take for Shop NBC to find out that one of their reps was a NHCD recruiting manager who was taking credit card numbers from its customers and charging the "deposit" just to get the hires? These people didnt even know they had a new work from home job! That was quietly swept under the rug, wouldnt be a good thing to get out while they had a lawsuit against them pending.

They do need new management and I think they should start with Grant. Its hard to believe that when a few of the big team senior managers threatened to walk, they got bribed with bigger weekly pay. When the smaller team managers that were not getting people threatened to quit, NHCD said good bye. They dont care about anything but money. They gave all the new "recruiting reps" to the bigger teams, totally eliminating the positions of smaller teams. My team went from 30 reps who were producing good numbers to 4 people. I was told that I couldnt have more people because my manager wasnt getting her hires. But of course, they had her in 3 meetings a day, doing training classes, changing scripts, having team meetings, working with her own team ect. When was she supposed to have time to sucker people into a job? You have senior managers stabbing each other in the back trying to get closer to Grant and closer to a bigger check every week. Intimidation, lying and walking all over people who arent as deceptive as the others is NHCDs way of business. If I had been a nasty backstabbing piece of crap, I could have been way up there, but I chose to be respectful to myself and stayed in my simple little management position.

So again, if you dont think NHCD is a scam, hand them your credit card or checking information, be prepared to work for very little and to get nothing in return other than threats if you dont do more.

During my 3 years with them, I was told I was doing an awesome job one week. The next week if my team didnt produce more than the last week, I got told I wasnt serious about management and that I needed to MAKE my reps work. Sure, let me take the car and drive across country and sit next to them and dial the phone. I was told I spent too much time with my kids, that I needed to pay attention to what was important which of course was NHCD. I went from one recruiting manager who hated her senior manager and quit. I was passed on to a senior manager who cared more about gossip and who she pawn her work off on, which was me. She left the company and I got passed to another senior manager who thought I was her personal assistant also. I did her work, covered for her while she went on trips, had all senior managers rights on the computer, trained her other managers, kept peace within the team managers when she because impossible to work with. I was again given to another senior manager on another team who quit after a month or so. Again, passed back to another manager who was awesome. I also covered for her, but she was the only one who actually thanked me. I did everyone elses work, plus my own and never did I get anything for it. I got accused of using my senior manager rights in a way that wasnt appropriate at one point. All they had to do was pull up what I did and they could see that I hadnt used any of those rights at all, inappropriate or not. But it was that managers way of putting something off on someone else instead of realizing that she was worthless.

If NHCD stopped charging people to work at home, stopped charging for a free product and acted like a respectable company, they might make it. But they cant see past the $$$$ signs. Grant cant go out and get a real job and god forbid the senior managers give up their free money every week. Its sad that NHCD knows that they are putting the health and welfare of people in jeopardy when they hire someone. Knowing darn well that they wont make enough in a month to put food on the table, let alone pay a mortgage. But they prey on single parents who want to be home with their kids. Its sickening and heartbreaking.

It boils down to poor management

AUTHOR: Tracey - (U.S.A.)

I feel all of the issues with NHCD come down to poor management. No offense to some of the managers but are some of you really qualified for this type of position?Do you have previous management experience or any type of business backround? I hardly think that being a lead generator for a few weeks makes someone management/recruiter material.

You really have to have a knack for keeping your team motivated in order to see success with this type of position. That is a skill that is seasoned over time.

If NHCD is guilty of anything I think they are guilty of taking advantage of the stay at home moms who lack the job skills for this position.

Maybe Mr Wilms should consider hiring management who have previous experience in this field.Instead of making unqualified moms jump through the hoops of lead generating, recruiting and trick them into believing they can actually lead a sales team with only a few weeks experience under their belts.

I have a right to post

AUTHOR: Leasa - (U.S.A.)

So whoever keeps complaining that the previous employees of NHCD are voicing the truth, you can bite me. I have just as much of a right to tell my 3 year horror story as you have. The only difference is that I have the balls to do it! You dont. So get over it, I have no intentions of letting this issue die. I might only post once a month now but I am not going anywhere and I will offer my opinion and experience on this scam company called NHCD. They steal from the elderly and poor when they know they can get the same program for FREE! I can type that slower for you if needed. I dont want you to miss something. And the more you try and push me into not posting, the more personal I will get with my posts, including names and situations. See, I was in a good group, I got all the good information. I was 3wayed into calls with sr managers and Kathy Bradley and Grant and others, they never knew I was there. But those managers had points to make and things to prove to me. And all the emails I got forwarded to me from Kathy Bradley and her right hand people, with threats and personal information about other managers, it was more of a gossip fest and a fight to get in good with KB. I never tried to get in good with her, wasnt a reason for it. I made it on my own, didnt need to hang on her apron strings to get my promotion.

So keep insisting that I stop posting, makes people wonder what I know that you dont want them to know. Hmmmm?

Have a good day!

Here it is--The Real Reason Current Folks Don't Post to this Board

AUTHOR: Ex- - (U.S.A.)

Here it is, couldn't resist it any longer. I'm skipping most of the mumbo jumbo included with this contract but here are the important facts, and the reason current managers and employees don't post to the ripoff report.

The following is a summary of the general employment policy of National Health Care Discount, Inc.(NHCD) concerning work hours, for individuals employed in Sales, Lead Generation and / or Personnel. This has been developed for informational purposes to help provide for orderly and efficient operations and to achieve the purpose and goals of NHCD.
This policy sets forth information which should be used as a guide, and should not be mistaken as an employment contract. Changes in federal or state laws, in business conditions, in administering policies or other such factors may require management to change portions of this policy without notice. While the policy may be updated as needed, please contact your supervisor or department head if questions arise.

Your employment is at-will, and can be terminated by you or NHCD, with or without cause, and with or without notice, at any time.

***I left out the info on Independent Contractor vs. Employee status to save space but decided to include the following......

NHCD Associates will not be allowed to work in our Lead Generation Department for more than four (4) consecutive weeks without written consent from his/her department head.

****Huh? This is a new one for me.......a little clarification would be people can't stay in leads anymore if they hate scamming people in recruiting.......that's rude.

LEADS----****here's the proof that they'll deduct from your paycheck

Non-qualified leads will be deducted from weekly pay. A non-qualified or return lead is any lead to which one or more of the following descriptions apply:

1. No presentation can be given. ****What constitutes a presentation? Based on who's opinion?

2. Was given misinformation. ***based on who's opinion I wonder?

3. Do not have a Credit Card or Checking Account.

4. Do not pay more than $30 per month for prescriptions.

5. Already have prescription coverage.

6. Duplicate Lead/Already Contacted **these shouldn't even be on your calling list....are they doubling up the lists? hmmmmmmmm.

Any associate whose non-qualified lead percentage is higher than 20% will be paid at the rate of $2 per qualified lead. In addition his/her pay on those leads may be held pending review. In the event your return lead percentage runs 25% or more we will no longer be able to accept your leads.

NHCD will provide a Long Distance access code for all of the business long distance call charges directly related to your position with NHCD and a second Personal Access Code for non-business Long Distance calling. These Access Codes will be available to you under the following conditions:

1. Your Business Access Calling Code and Personal Access Calling Code cannot be validated until receipt of the completed Employment Policy.

2. You may not begin using your assigned Business Access Code or Personal Access Calling Code until you have received written authorization to do so. Access Codes will be issued only by the Telecommunications department, and cannot be confirmed verbally.

3. The assigned Business Access Code provided in your written authorization is the only code to be used for NHCD business calls, and must be used for all business calls.

4. The Personal Access Code is to be used for all non-business long distance calling.

5. Your individual Business Access Code is used only to call the telephone numbers you are assigned as your individual lead numbers.

6. Your Business Access Code and Personal Access Code are to be used on ONLY the telephone line/number you have submitted in the NHCD Employment contract as your business line/number.

Long distance charges for calls that do not comply with the above guidelines will be billed by the telephone company directly to your home number.

NHCD's long distance service is provided by Affordable Services, Inc. ***I could be wrong but isnt this company owned by Global Access who just merged with Matrix?****not sure on that one....I'll have to look into it further....either way it goes right into a certain vp's pocketbook.......

This service includes unlimited NHCD business calls plus 500 minutes of personal long distance calls for $18.95 per month. This plan is only available to current NHCD associates and is not available to the general public.

This allows you up to 500 minutes per month of personal long distance at the rate of 3.7 cents per minute, which is one of the lowest cost calling plans in the country. *****so if you call for more than 500 minutes/month----if ya wanna make any money, you'd better, you're paying 18.95 + 3.7 cents/minute.

This plan will remain in effect until notified in writing at the following address:(deleted)

Please provide your first name, last name and telephone number(s) on your request.

We do collect a $19.95 security deposit. This security deposit is refunded back to you provided you meet the following requirements.

1. You do not use the business long distance access code for personal use.

Requests for security deposit refunds are to be made at the end of thirty days in writing (deleted)

Please provide your first name, last name and telephone number(s) on your request. Requests for refunds will not be accepted if request is received prior to thirty days or if the request is made via telephone, fax or email. Upon approval, your security deposit refund will be issued by check and mailed from our home office in Sioux City, IA within 30 days.

Please keep in mind, usage of your business access code for personal use calls is strictly prohibited and will result in termination of this agreement and end user being billed directly from the carrier at non-adjusted rates. ****and just how are they tracking this? How does the phone company know which calls are business and which are personal?********

Any moves or changes in your local telephone service or in your personal non-business Long Distance company can affect your ability to make business calls. Because of this, changes of these types must be reported to the Telecommunications Department (deleted). The report must be submitted at least 1 week before any changes go into effect.

No checks will be issued for less than $20. All amounts less than this will be accrued until $20 is reached. (Effective 6-1-01) ****shoot!!!I made that money, it's mine!!*******

Independent Contractor and/or employee agrees not to disclose or threaten to disclose any information which concerns NHCD's products and competitive business position to any person or use such information in any way to compete with or to act in any way adverse to NHCD while affiliated or acting on behalf of NHCD or at anytime thereafter. ***in other words, you can't exercise your constitutional right to free speech. Even 50 years after you leave the rotten place!!!!Why do they need to add that? I wonder? Something to hide maybe? Don't want others to know how lousy they are?

That's the important stuff gang!! The real reason current employees don't speak up? They'll lose their jobs if anyone finds out who they are!!!!! Now I guess I'll sit back and watch the personal insults come in.....

Nope Didn't see it coming.

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

Yep I didn't see it coming. But I'm really not mad. I mean I sat at home doing easy work making money. I don't really have to many bad things to say about the people working for the company. I really did like alot of them. The biggest dissapointment was when I later found out that I got canned cause they thought I wasn't really doing anything. I know the reports for lead's weren't that hard to do but When I started the benifits enrollment I was enrolling about 300 people a week in benifits.Out of the 43 or 45 class's I was doing 39 of them. And for what little money they were paying me I thought They were making out fine. But like I said above no one knew I was doing this work. Why? Don't make since to me. I guess someone wasn't informed or I was doing something I wasn't supposed to be doing.

About the aol. If you want transcripts to the hearing go to and put in National Health care discount vs. AOL. It should come up.

I think if nhcd can get away with it why can't I. So I'm going to start selling Ice to Eskimos.

AUTHOR: L. - (U.S.A.)

I worked at NHCD for several months a few years ago. Paid the "one time fee" and never received a paycheck. I understand most did, but I never did. I produced tons of leads (that met their requirements). After a few months of not receiving a paycheck I decided to leave. The one time payment for me became more spent as I some overhead while working from home as well. I wonder if now (issues arising with management receiving a pay cut) has anything to do with the "Junk E-mail Decisions and Litigation" filed by AOL? I'm sure NHCD is forking out money to save their butt's for this. I didn't see anyone comment on that so I was unsure if anyone knew. Thought I would post it here and see if this made sense. Specifically: "Defendant has initiated and sponsored a systematic program of bombarding America Online, Inc. ("AOL") and its members with tens of thousands of deceptive, unsolicited, and unwanted Internet electronic mail ("e-mail") messages advertising its "dental and optical plan". Despite demands by AOL that it cease the intentional use of such unwanted and unsolicited junk e-mail as a means of promoting its business, Defendant has refused to stop these junk mass e-mailings." You can read up on this at at the AOL Legal Department. Anyway ... I hope everyone can find something else that benefits. While working there I thought it might be very difficult to make money, but I expected to at least make some. I contacted NHCD several times to request my paycheck prior to quiting and all I received was excuses. They agreed I supplied them with quality leads, but again never got paid. I'm glad to see that they paid someone even if it's now cut. I'm sorry to hear this and I wish you all well.

Disgruntled? As if! More like amused!

AUTHOR: R - (U.S.A.)

I believe I was asked how long it has been since I worked with the company and that would be 7 months. 7 months that I have since been able to sit back and reflect on what NHCD is and was. As is my constitutional right, I am able to tell others about my experience with NHCD, and I'm just as amused when someone sticks up for them because their job is going well 'at the moment.' Soon after they realize what a mistake it was. I worked for NHCD for 11 months and I have never claimed otherwise. It took me those 11 months to actually see what was going on behind closed doors.

Erin Grigsby, you said I never grasped the idea of management. That's interesting coming from someone who always seemed to have tons of reps complaining because they couldn't get ahold of you or you would return their calls. That's why you were so adamant about not letting NHCD go through with a Help Line for their reps because you knew a lot of your reps would be calling to get help. Of course according to SB up are the perfect manager. I know that you are angry at me because when I quit, you and SB were not happy that I decided what to do with my team on my own. I cared enough about my team to make sure they were with someone who would actually care about them as well. You've said many times to me that you've wanted to quit but always thought better of it because you wouldn't be able to find a job where you make so much money not doing anything and having others (your team) making your money for you. Yup, you're a great manager with no conscience. You're so great of a manager that you never even batted an eyelash talking about AE, SB, and even Grant in regards to how they run their departments and the company in general.

Being a manager means more than just telling your people what to do. It means being there for them, calling them to get them motivated, answering questions for them and when going gets tough, dig right in there and work along side of them. That's how I ran my team, I didn't just treat them like a statistic. I learned from the best managers possible that are wonderful people themselves. Do you see my reps on here complaining because I wasn't there for them and to help them? I am still in contact with plenty of my old reps, even ones that quit way back in the beginning when I was a brand new manager.

I don't know what managers busted their butts to get me in my position, because I had never expected to be a Senior Manager because they weren't promoting any and I was completely fine with that. However, if someone did help to get me into Senior Management because my team was so successful it was Dawn and Naomi, definitely not you. I barely knew you at that point. I also don't know what you mean by managers not hurting my pocketbook. Are you implying that someone else was working with my team to put commission on my paycheck? I don't know how that is possible because every vacation I went on, my laptop and cell phone went with me and my team knew to call me. The only time I had someone cover my team was for 3 days when I had my wisdom teeth out. So what you're actually trying to say with that comment, I'm not sure.

You are correct in one thing - all companies have changes. Very very true. The company I work for has changes too, although the changes they have are beneficial to me and end up putting more money in my pocket that doesn't involve a scam. It doesn't take money away from people who try to work hard. If you work, you make money. Some people would not like my line of work because it involves actually working and answering the phones. That's too much like real work for some people.

As for someone pointing out that only ex-managers post here - the reason is because managers are acutally told not to post here and they hold your job over your head as a threat. I've heard about it happening to at least 3 managers. Erin can do whatever she wants however because of that aforementioned 'relationship' with SB.

As for being unstable, immature and deviant, I'm glad you think you know me. Truth is, you probably don't. I'm just trying to let people know what NHCD is all about which is my constitutional right.

It's very unique that you use the word 'unstable' seeing as how you are working for a company that appears to be unstable with pay cuts and a whole line of services going down. I got on here a few months ago and posted actual statistical facts from when I was a manager. All the people that are defending the company never come on here with facts. How long have you been a manager? How many reps have you gotten? How many do you have that work at least once a week now? Ever look at that number? How many leads does your team turn in each week, how many get returned?

NHCD is a work at home scam, but even more than that, it's just as Julie says - a scheme to rip off the elderly. There are many different discount cards out there that provide the same savings and are absolutely FREE.

Chris, I'm sorry to hear about what happened to you. You were a great guy and you didn't deserve what they did to you. It's interesting that some people get fired, but others get positions created for them that they slide right into. The way they slammed the door in your face is exactly what you called it - bad business. You probably didn't even have a hint of a warning.

As for the current manager, I agree with the Ex-manager from LA. Better watch out. NHCD patrols these boards with an iron fist for their employees and what you said about SB could get you fired. Even though it is absolutely true. She wouldn't know how to work with teams like lead managers do because she doesn't know how it is to work with a team. She just hands orders down and continues to collect her salary. When Sr. Managers go on vacation and don't have anyone to cover their team for them, they go to SB to cover. When you get back from vacation, your team has dwindled down to nothing. I've seen that happen. The company would definitely go down if all the managers quit because the higher ups that were left wouldn't know what to do first.

Bottom line is that this forum is an open forum. If I want to post, I can. If you want to post you can. The reason people like Erin are so upset is because they know the ex-managers are speaking the truth about the runnings and rip-off procedures of the company.

Better look out Pissed

AUTHOR: Ex- - (U.S.A.)

Better look out pissed. They'll be going crazy now trying to figure out who you are and if they do, they'll take away your reps or find some way of making you quit early. Anytime anyone current posts on here they start calling managers and threatening them. They still owe me money. Don't worry, your secret's safe with me. And thank you for coming out.

See, there are current managers that are brave enough to speak out. The very few supporters on here are so suckered in they'll have to dig out from under a huge pile of garbage to see reality.

Great income..........only those who've been bought off and even then, you're working as slave labor. Have a great time!

Sorry To Hear That Chris

AUTHOR: Pissed - (U.S.A.)

I am sorry to hear that NHCD treated you that way. I am still a Leads Manager with the company but not for very long. Not only have they reduced our pay but know are threatening our jobs as Managers. Maybe if all the Managers quit SB would have to get off her rump and work with a group instead of just going to meetings and sending out e-mails and being paid SALARY for that. Wish I could find a company that would let me sit back and be paid salary for basically doing nothing. Anyone know of any jobs like that LMAO

AUTHOR: Chris - (U.S.A.)

Yep Nhcd did it to me too. My name is Chris Morton and I worked for nhcd for about 10 months. I was one of the people who was contacted by Kathy Bradley to let me know that There was a meeting that I needed to attend. This was normal for the company we had meetings via phone every day. But when I was in the room and no one introduced themselves a man came on and started talking there were at least 10 different voice's I herd on the phone conversation that got fired right along with me. I really didn't like the fact that for some reason every other job I worked for if they were to fire me they would have to do it in private. They really did not handle that in a good way. I mean firing someone is one thing. I understand This stuff happens. But when your company will stoop as low to just slam the door on your face well to me that's bad bussiness. Anyway's after the letter was read about how revenue was down and they were getting rid of us instead of saying anything we got hung up on. I do see that nhcd is listed on the BBB in good standing. But if you ask me The BBB is not really looking at there Bussiness Ethics close enough. I'm sorry and I do feel for everyone that has came in contact with nhcd and was done wrong.

Don't take your hostility out on us

AUTHOR: Ex- - (U.S.A.)

First, let me just say that the "ex" is not unstable. I am a college-educated, very successful mom, working from home, making a good living, running my own business. And I have a conscience. Why is it that everytime something happens with this lousy company, people get on here and take it out on the folks who had the balls to stand up to the greed, the threats, and the unprofessionalism that is nhcd? And you never use facts. You get on here, lie through your eye teeth, and sling personal insults at people. Just because you're sucked into the mold, hate your job (which you all do----we have ears you know) and can't get out of your position doesn't mean that those who have made the leap are disgruntled, miss nhcd, or anything else. We probably are a bit miffed about the happenings in this company, and we definately want to help dissuade people from working there (gee I wonder why?). But we speak facts and it's obviously working. That just kills you doesn't it?

And just for the record? I love change. Progress comes from change. Technology comes from change. Too bad the changes at nhcd almost always involve a new way to screw the managers and the reps. Hmmmmm, I wonder......Hmmmmmmm another legal matter maybe?...........hmmmmmmmmm

#14 Consumer Comment

Isn't the main issue that NHCD is a ripoff to consumers?

AUTHOR: Juliet - (U.S.A.)

My primary impression is that it isn't that NHCD is a "work-at-home-ripoff", but a "rob the elderly & disabled blind" ripoff. Excuse me if I'm wrong but it sure does sound that way to me.

Way to go!

AUTHOR: Content, Love My Career & Team - (U.S.A.)

I am so happy someone said exactly what I've been wanting to say!

Has anyone noticed that only "ex" or quit managers post complaints here? That's what's so funny! Why do they do it? So hoping their peers from the job they worked with so long will read it! They are bitter, damaged and truly must miss NHCD and the people involved with the company.

They flew off the handle and quit because they didn't get things their way..sounds like they really do regret ever leaving! Maybe miss the wonderful income NHCD supplied them with for so long? Or maybe miss the tight friendships and good staff at NHCD? Their motto seems to be, "if you can't join them, BASH them!"

NHCD'S jobs provides many families across the USA with income, benefits and the security of staying at home with your family! Those that don't enjoy the jobs are free to move on. This kind of work is not for eveyone. I have reps on my team that have been with me for over 2 years if things were so horrible, why do you think they stay?

If you have a personality, drive and are serious about working, the income is awesome no matter what level you are on, entry level or senior mgmnt.

If you really apply yourself you could become the next manager! We make advancement so easy!
See look, even people like Leasa W and R and "ex" manager were at one time promoted, why? At one time they tried! Maybe we make advancement too easy, maybe we should start checking medical records to find out if the next "ex" manager is unstable, inmature and deviant or live day to day on some stupid website discussion board?

Whew, I'm so glad I have better things to do in my life, like earn an income, provide jobs to those that need or want to work and provide and love my family!

For those that have nothing better to do than hang on to something they lost...Get a life! Move on! We don't think about you anymore, why do you continue to be interested in what we do? Miss us, dontcha? LOL

Response to Leasa and Rhonda...FINALLY

AUTHOR: Mgr - (U.S.A.)

It's so interesting to see Leasa and "R" (aka Rhonda Gelinas) still posting on this site even though they are supposedly not interested in NHCD any longer. How long has it been since you have worked with NHCD? Yet you still have this desire to check up on everyone working here and continute to bash everyone. Also interesting to note...especially to everyone who comes here to see if this is, indeed, a legit position, that both Leasa and Rhonda worked for NHCD for extended periods of time. Rhonda...let's see at least a year or so...and Leasa...I believe it was in excess of 3 years. Rhonda...I am so sick of you sitting up on your soap box bashing managers who busted their butts to get you into the position that you claimed to "love" while here. Funny thing didn't seem to quite grasp the idea of "management."

Management doesn't require 90+ hours of anyones time and if you seriously think that 90+ hours equals a better manager you need to rethink your position greatly. There are truly great people who continue to work here in management capacities who have children to support and mortgages to pay and they aren't sitting back on their asses letting their spouses support them.

Those "managers" who you continue to bash, who probably didn't hurt your pocketbook at all when you were here, continue to push through with the changes as anybody would in companies that change. ALL companies change and yes NHCD probably has more frequent changes than most. However, they are also a home based operation that continues to change to help people who are serious about working from home.

Nobody is ever happy with change, however, the world continues to do so and we muddle through. NHCD may not be the "best" work at home position for everyone but it certainly does provide a valid position and income for many people out there. Rhonda and Leasa...supposedly you have "moved on" in your other us all a favor and DO JUST THAT....MOVE THE HELL ON!!!

It's about time

AUTHOR: R - (U.S.A.)

This is the best news I could have read. I can't wait to see what happens in 2006 when Medicare Part D kicks in to cover prescriptions better. Then they are going to lost a lot of their rx leads too. I always knew I wanted to get out before 2006 when that hit because then we would have been going on mostly dental leads, but now that they are caput there's not really much to go on.

I feel sorry for all the managers that are used to receiving $600-1000 a week from their teams, and teams they inherited from quitting managers. Their paychecks will drop substantially, especially if they are not guaranteed their $100 bonus pay or $455 base pay. Then again, they've had every opportunity to get out of the company after seeing where its been heading for the last year, and they haven't left because they don't mind scamming people and just sitting back and letting their team do all the work without answering their phone calls. The only time they kick it into high gear is to make up stories for the returned leads.

It doesn't surprise me where this company is going. With the practices it employs, there is no where else to go but downhill.

Dental Plan is no more!!

AUTHOR: Ex- - (U.S.A.)

Hot off the presses.......not only has nhcd taken away senior managers' base and cut overrides all over the place, they have now completely gotten rid of the business dental department. My sources have told me this is due to the sales departments' inability to sell the product. So anyone left who hasn't quit already is working rx. So sad. Ok so I'm not sad. So I guess they will be making their money exclusively from rx and the beauty bar. And their reps of course.

Soon, hopefully very soon, Grant will have to close down his little empire and get a real job like the rest of us.

Saw it Coming

AUTHOR: Leasa - (U.S.A.)

I hate that you are being asked to bend over again. NHCD is good at that. Sounds to me like people are catching on to what a scam they are and that less and less people are falling for it. Therefore they have to cut out some expenses because they arent raking in the money on the recruiting side, which was the whole backbone of the company. This company never depended on sales to keep above water, it was the hundreds of thousands of people desperate to have a stay at home job and paid the fees that kept NHCD going. Now that less people are being recruited, they are hard up for money. I personally think its great. As soon as NHCD goes out of business, we can all relax knowing that noone else will have to pay them to work at home and noone else will have to pay for a free RX dental program. It has taken a lot of time, but the credit goes to everyone who has stayed strong and voiced their experience and information about this company. If everyone keeps putting the truth out there, it wont be long before NHCD has no option but to close the doors and move on to something else.

I can not believe it, well yes I can

AUTHOR: R - (U.S.A.)

To the Hartford manager - When I was reading your post, I was astounded. Well in thinking about the company we are talking about I then wasn't surprised. Managers and reps paychecks are being cut, but I can bet that your department managers paychecks won't be touched.

If you are looking for something to do still from home with great potential, please feel free to email me. I'm going to try and post my email address but it may cut it out so if you still have my email from when I was a SR manager on the Burgundy team, it is the same.

Doesn't Surprise Me.

AUTHOR: Ex- - (U.S.A.)

I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through but it really doesn't surprise me. The company has been in financial disarray for awhile and it's not the first time they've chopped manager's pay.

I think some of their problems can be contributed to the no call laws but I think the vast majority of the issue is that people are getting educated, not purchasing things over the telephone (I wouldn't) and checking places like the ripoff report before ever considering purchasing from nhcd. I think that's wonderful!!

In addition, NHCD is full of a majority of unhappy contractors and employees. I'll bet they're trying to get some of you senior folks to quit to save money. Greed, greed, greed is nhcd's real motto. And do whatever it takes to whoever it takes to put more money in Grant's pockets.

I wish you luck in finding a solid position.
