FORMER SALES MANAGER

AUTHOR: Elaine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 18, 2005

I worked for NHCD for over 2 years,I was a Recruiter, Recruiting Manager, Sales Rep and became a Sales Manager for the final year with the company. When I was hired in 2001 by a Recruiter named Ron Leonard he took my MasterCard information towards what was at that time a $54 deposit. Little did I know that Credit Cards were not accepted! I learned later from my Recruiting Manager...luckily nothing happened to my card information. Obviously Ron just wanted the commission from the hire! Moving into Sales was not easy, very little contact with my manager, she made it be known she only worked a few hours a day and acted like she didn't want to be bothered. Luckily I was experienced in sales so I pulled myself through the training and made it to management. During the late summer of 2004 major payroll changes were occurring, as a manager I inquired to the details on behalf of my reps. I made NUMBEROUS attempts to the Senior Sales Manager receiving NO responses. Violations and State Statutes were actually broken, however, I tried to keep the waters calm and didn't approach those issues to Grant Wilhms. Our questions on receiving payroll checks were ignored and never answered. I lost good reps due to this. THEN suddenly in October my payroll checks were NOT received. Finally after 5 weeks payroll in Sioux City and Kansas City acted on it to replace them only after I threatened to quit? Work supplied to myself and my reps were horrible. Sales were falling terribly. I went from making an average of $400-$500 weekly to under $100 a week and that is working full time! I approached this issue to upper management over and over, again and again!
They acted like it was my fault for not selling to leads that were NOT qualified. SUDDENLY one Monday morning I woke up to a "TERMINATION EMAIL". How tacky! Terminating a Sales Manager by email...that was an easy way to sweep me under the rug to get me out of their hair. They terminated my best sales rep in the same fashion on the same morning! This rep had 25 years sales experience!......NHCD IS PURE LOW CLASS

# Of People With Complaints

AUTHOR: Mary - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 07, 2004

Ok...there was a comment made about the number of people that have problems with NHCD.

Let's be realistic here, if you read this board and any of the others on the Internet you see many posts about NHCD, I will give you that, but did you ever notice that the posts are all being put there by the same people, over and over again?

So just because there are a lot of negative comments really doesn't mean much, because the comments are from a relatively small portion of the people that NHCD hires. NHCD gives a lot of people a job, and A LOT of people are happy! There are always going to be people that didn't like the job, their manager, etc. or they might not have made much money because they struggled with the position and those people will be vocal, but don't make a broad statement about the vast majority of NHCD reps.

Think about it this way...Wal-Mart is a huge corporation that employs thousands of people across the country. The majority of those people really like working for Wal-Mart, but some people really dislike working for Wal-Mart but if all of the Wal-mart workers who disliked their job got together (which they have) it would seem like Wal-Mart is this horrible company...does that small percentage of people represent everyone that works for Wal-Mart? NO THEY DON'T!!!

The same holds true for NHCD! While NHCD is not as big of a company as Wal-Mart, they still hire a lot of people that need jobs and a small percentage of those people do not like the job and start calling the company a scam. Do a google on Wal-Mart and see what a "scam" of a company they are according to their ex-employees!!

there was NO way to be hired without a deposit.

AUTHOR: Dawn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 18, 2004

I apologize for the previous message as I did not proof read what I had written. I did not mean to state that there was no contract, what I had meant to say was that up until a couple of weeks ago, there was NO way to be hired without a deposit.

The person who stated that you did not need a deposit was LYING and you know it! If you didnt need a credit card number or a checking account, how come you couldn't submit the hire without it?

Regardless, this company is not on the up and up. I can see these employees being able to say something if there were only one or two complaints...but come on, do you truly believe there are THIS MANY disgruntled former employees who would come here and LIE? No Way!

And it's not just this website. Do a quick search of the web and you will find HUNDREDS of stories just like this.

As far as scripts and what I was told by my "manager", you werent there and you didnt hear so I guess your statement was IGNORANT eh?

Ignorance is bliss

AUTHOR: Angela - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 18, 2004

Jennifer,
Can't say I blame you for not responding to the nonsense on these boards. Ignorance is bliss :)
I am going to guess I probably dont know you, I have only lived in East Hartford for the last 4 years, However I am not opposed to making new friends.
Dawn,
Your statement is pure ignorance. There has ALWAYS been an employment contract for NHCD. When there was a security deposit it clearly stated NHCD would collect $74 by credit card or check for a telephone access code and it would be returned after your 5th week of work and 500 presentations. I never stated otherwise. To call me a liar is absurd, immature, unprofessional, outrageous and unappreciated.

If you lie about your job to others and mislead them that is your CHOICE, no one forces you to. Not one person in this company says lie or you will be fired, nor do they hold a gun to you head nor do they secretly record your interviews, nor do they force you to read a script. They have a suggested script for all recruiters, however the intelligent recruiters toss that script out. I am assuming you kept and used the suggested script?

NO contract says anything about a deposit

AUTHOR: Dawn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 17, 2004

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A CONTRACT WITH NHCD UNTIL ABOUT A WEEK AGO. (11-7-04) YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE THE MANAGER THAT RESPONDED EARLIER AS THEY ARE USED TO LYING! NHCD FORCES THIER EMPLOYEES TO DO THAT! I AM A RECRUITER AND BEFORE YOU COULD NOT HIRE WITHOUT THIER CREDIT CARD INFO! DUH, AS A MANAGER, I WOULD THINK YOU WOULD KNOW THAT, I DO. ANYWAY, MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF OUT OF THIER DEPOSIT. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!

POSTED: Monday, November 15, 2004

I've been a sales manager with NHCD for almost 4 years and I'm not even going to respond to the nonsense on this site. Just wanted to say hi to Angela from East Hartford. I'm from East Hartford also, have been a sales manager since March 2001 and was surprised to see EH, CT. I grew up here, went to school here, wondered if I knew you.

My View On NHCD Former Recruiting manager

AUTHOR: Angela - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 20, 2004

I used to work for this company and so many times I wanted to respond to these "boards" but never did because well.. people only want to believe what they think.

Long story short I was hired for NHCD in January 2004. In February 2004 I received my security deposit back by simply requesting it through my recruiting manager. 6 weeks later I was promoted to a recruiting manager on the orange team.

I really am writing this to respond to all the comments about people not being able to get ahold of their managers.

I worked side by side with the previous mentioned D. Butler and T. Fossie so I can tell you from first hand experience about this company's previous recruiting styles and what was said to recruiters. How deposits were given back and how staff support is available to those who WANTED it.

If I was unavailable to my recruiters they had the other managers to contact. One thing people need to realise is everyone from this company works from home. Managers are dealing with anywhere from 5-30+ recruiters at a time. If your manager is not available the moment you call leave a message, send an email, contact one of the other managers, or better yet... the teams have several meetings a week that YOUR manager is in. Take 3 seconds and say "So-N-so this is ____ and I need to talk with you one on one ASAP"

To say you cant contact your manager is absurd. Its more like your manager isnt available at the exact second you need them and you have less patience than a typical 5 year old.

Now onto the security deposit. "I didnt get my security deposit back".. Has anyone asked to stop WHY... why didnt I get my sec deposit back?.. The answer is this... YOU didnt do the required work.

HELLO black and white it said it in your contract 5 weeks /500 presentations

Not once in the ENTIRE TIME I was a manager for NHCD did one person on my team that met the contract requirements not get their security deposit back. I would ask them on a weekly basis where they stood on leads contacts and made d**n sure I stayed on each one of them to make sure they got their deposit back. Even going as far as calling myself and making requests and inquiries.

Simple fact is this. If you dont pick up the phone and you dont make the calls your not gonna get the leads/hires and your not gonna get a paycheck.

Working for this company is not for everyone. You need to keep a positive mindset. You need to be secure in yourself or you will fail at this job.

Now time has gone by since I worked for this company and there have been huge changes. Now there is no security deposit and there are numerous other changes. 3

So my next question is.. what are people on these boards where anyone can post any random thoughts going to complain about next with this company now that there is no security deposit?

In closing I worked for this cmpany, I liked working for this company I was never ripped off by this company and I would work for this company again.

For those wondering why I stopped working for this company. I simply missed face to face human contact so I took a job outside my home and didnt have the time for 2 jobs and a family.

Manager that WILL assist any complaint or negative experience.

AUTHOR: Don - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 13, 2004

I am a Manager with NHCD. I have never had a Rep. call me with any issue concerning their deposit, or the inability to perform the job hired for. I will however, address any current Rep's. concerns regarding the job. The $74 is a deposit that is required to give each Rep. the ability to dial through the company, thus, avoiding the long distance charges showing up on their phone bill.

This deposit is not required, (as stated in the contract), for individuals who would like to work for NHCD, but would like to obtain individuals to call on their own. For one, the company WILL NOT pay for their long distance charges that would be a result of the calls they make.

More importantly, the company WILL NOT be responsible for any of these reps. who end up contacting someone who has been placed on the "Do Not Call List". The company screens each and every number they provide, with the DNC List, avoiding any legal issues, or fines that would result should a rep. call them.

I would be more than happy to assist, or address any current Rep's concerns regarding any of these issues. I can be contacted via: don@butlerimage.com Please provide your manager's name, your name, phone number and server ID #. I assure you I will contact you within 48 hours.

Thank You,
