First let me say that "Captain" Nicholas Morena is a convicted felon. You can see a picture of his mugshot here: (((REDACTED)))

He was caught commiting fraud and other various illegal activity and was ultimately arrested

He scammed my friends out of thousands of dollars, and I personally witnessed him scam a total stranger out of hundreds.

He caused thousands of dollars of damage to my yacht and completely ignored my phones calls and letters.

This is the story:

I own a 63 foot yacht in Florida and keep it in an expensive, quiet marina.  One day, a small sailboat was about to be towed out from the marina.  I figured I could be helpful and untie the dock lines.  While helping, I overheard the conversation with a woman at the marina warning the sailboat owner that the tow company he is using owend by Nicholas Morena scammed her and her boyfriend out of thousands of dollars. She told a detailed story but the sailboat owner said the guy was already on his way and took his chances.

The tow boat came and the woman confirmed it was him and walked off.  We untied the lines and as they were driving off, the tow boat immediately crashed the sailboat into my yacht parked on the end of the dock.  I yelled out to stop but they increased speed and took off.

2 days later, the sailboat owner came to the marina confirming that he too, was defrauded by Nicholas Morena.  He made a phone call on speaker and I heard Nicholas Morena explaining that if the sailboat owner did not pay extra money, he would put a $4,000 lien on the boat.  I read through his text messages and it confirmed that text messages sent by Nicholas Morena were just plain extortion.

I got this "captain's" information from the woman at the marina and the sailboat owner. I found his company: AKC MARINE, LLC and sent multiple demand letters for the damage done to my boat. There were several witnesses at the marina. I called over 10 times and this guy just doesn't pick up my phone calls.

At this point, I have paid to have the fiberglass repaired to my yacht. I made a police report and appearantly they already know about this guy.

I really hope this report helps prevent this guy from hurting someone else. If you plan on doing business with him, just take your chances with someone else. Trust me.

The woman that has been drug into this fiction

AUTHOR: Shannon - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 26, 2017

I was recently made aware of this ripoff report, and did my own investigation into the matter after reading a lot of false information. I sold the mentioned sailboat to Craig Matthew Feigin. I don't appreciate being drug into this story at all. He mentioned he couldn't afford the dock space and planned to drag this boat to a nearby anchorage. I told him the risk in that move versus cost. He was well informed that wind conditions were not favorable for what he planned. He mentioned he met Captain Nic, and that this captain agreed to tow him for a special rate. That rate would have been great, but the conditions turned it into a huge process. The rate was adjusted to how many man hours it had to take, due to Craigs emergency. I informed Craig of what to expect. I have a history with Captain Nic, but I didn't go into details. I mentioned to him to make a clear deal with the captain. Craig asked me if the captain was able to perform the task at hand, and I told him that Nic was a good captain. If Craig wanted to use him, that was his prerogative. I informed Craig of all his options. I did make a small remark that me and my boyfriend had a difference of opinion with the captain in the past, but it wasn't something I held a grudge about. I know the captain was competent, and Craig was set on a cheap deal. The 63 ft yacht mentioned here was never hit. I met the owner, and informed him of this report. He was also not happy to have his vessel drug into this story. He had been on the yacht for several months and informed me that no one had hit it, and that he did not file this report. That vessel is still there. The sailboat was moved in rough conditions by Captain Nic, successfully. I did show up on the original day the sailboat was supposed to move. And, that move was moved to a later time due to conditions. I never saw it leave. But, I did recieve many calls from the buyer after it left, informing that the move was complicated and would cost more than he thought. In the marine industry, that is usually the case. I did give Craig the information he requested on the captain, I.e. first and last name, and rank. I gave him no other info than that. This is clearly a story made up by a disgruntled boat owner that didn't get his way. And while I might sympathize in his grief over affording the move, I do not agree with this story, at all. It is complete defamation and fiction about a US Coast Guard registered professionally trained captain. Whether Craig or I like him or not, his captain abilities are well above most. This post needs to be removed, because it is completely false. Feel free to verify that. I am a marine industry professional and student. I am self employed as a yacht manager and maintenance person. I have no criminal back ground, whatsoever. I can attest these allegations are completely false, and frankly, this story completely creeped me out.

I would like to start with letting the world know that I am not a convicted felon at all... as a matter of fact yes I was arrested at the age of 20 for driving my jeep on the sand in Sanibel island.. so this mug shot is real just not for the allegations that this clown is making against me it was 16 years ago. I have never in my entire career on the water ever crashed a boat or anything of the sort and my credentials speak for themselves .I guess he thinks it's OK to try and destroy someone's character yet it means nothing to me because I know the truth. obviously he is too much of a to expose his true identity to the world.

These story's are totally made up by one guy who is upset with his decision to trade boats with me and had traders remorse after HE decided to do so. I never perpetuated any fraud or anything of the sort.. it was simply a trade that was perfectly fine until he decides one day that he wants his boat back and he wanted me to just jump and say OK and I didn't. I broke my butt repairing the boat he traded me and spent hours of my time fixing it and plenty of money doing so. He offered to pay me a fraction of what I invested and I did not agree to unwind the deal weeks later just like most of us wouldn't especially for penny's on the dollar. There's and old saying that you get further in life with honey not lemons take that advice because you need it for your future transactions. And I also have retained a phenomenal attorney who knows maritime law like he wrote it..

I suggest you quite trying to deteriorate my character because if you do not STOP I am gonna sue you for everything you ever work for........And that's a promise! I will not continue to take your harassment any longer little boy. Why don't you pay your debt and yes I'll see you in court with a smile on my face and a GREAT attorney.
