In Nov 2007, I was sold, by very persuasive telephone salesman ,from Nick Marks success training, a 12 week intensive course on "internet marketing". The course to be delivered by "Tafiti Consulting".

I was told that I would be engaged in a proactive 12 weeks intensive training programme, followed by on going support for as long as I found it necessary.

I was told that firstly, I would be set up as an E-bay seller immediately so as to start generating an income. I was told to look around my house to see what I did not want and could sell!

The next step would be that they would build me a website, link me to a dropshipper, submit it to the search engines and generate a high search rating.

I was told that I was likely to get my money back by way of profits in 3 to 6 months.

I was told that I would receive full written details of the course and that they would be "holding my hand all the way" even to the point of taking over my computer screen to show me first hand exactly what to do when necessary.

I was told that there would be a manual and software to accompany the course which would be posted to me.

All I had in 4 weeks was 2 phone calls, 1 of which I requested, and have been given access to their software instructional videos. I have had no help regarding e-bay and otherwise been left to "Do it myself".

They offer a website builder which is difficult to use and again offered very little help.

On the subject of the videos, those which I have watched have not been of very good quality, have varying and poor sound, and some do not look very professional! Some cant be paused and have no timescale so you dont know how long to allow.

I believe that similar instructional materials can be obtained on the web for free or at little cost.

No company information about Nick Marks or Taffiti Consulting is available on their website. I have asked for details of their company, course curriculum and
the postal mailing address and have received no information.

I did not receive the written information package promised and tried to cancel payment through my bank.

I paid $6000 by debit card and have only had a few phone calls which have given me no benefit at all. Their website training can only be seen (by an access code) once you have paid and contains very poor quality videos and information freely available on the net.

They say they have a "3 day cancellation policy" but I was not aware of this nor had any communication from them in this time.

I have an audio recording of one of their trainers agreeing with me that after several weeks their "training" had given me no benefit whatsoever, I complained many times, both on the phone and by e-mail and asked for refund, but their response was to start again or change direction, and to ignore my refund request.

I complained to my bank and they refunded me whilst "investigating" but this company produced an "invoice" which I had never seen before to justify their claim and my bank paid them again.

I have had nothing of any value for my money and after getting nowhere they have cut me off from access to the site and do not respond to e-mails.

They offer no guarantees or refund policy and surely a 3 day cancellation clause is unacceptable.

They have repeatedly ignored my request for details of their supposed BBB membership and name of CEO. They did not even publish their company name and address details on the training site so that I could contact them.

Its a matter of Principle

AUTHOR: Scammedbigtime - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Friday, February 25, 2011

I think that Naive is a good choice of words. Some people have Principles and dont like to get Ripped Off. To some people this is a large amount of money. If the scammers are allowed to get away with it, who will they scam next and for how much?  If it happened to you , you might think differently. Or is it that you work for them?

I am very pleased with my success in getting my money back, especially as I reside in another country

Effort?

AUTHOR: Stellaedmonds - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 25, 2011

Maybe I'm just naive here, but it seems as if people complaining had exerted half as much time and effort in using what they taught, they would have made more than their investment back.  I don't know, because I haven't purchased any of their products, and really don't know much about the company.  Just seems funny for someone to spend 9 or 10 months chasing a refund for a few grand, when you can earn a lot more in that amount of time.  $40k/yr is the average salary in the US, or $3,333 per month.  I guess if you have tons of time on your hands, and no desire to work for money, then it makes sense.

Tafiti Consuting - Refund advise

AUTHOR: Scammedbigtime - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Sunday, February 22, 2009

I contacted many government bodies and trade associations but finally got a refund after contacting The Local Chamber of Commerce in Utah.
Taffiti obviously did not like that.
Good luck to any others who have been scammed, be persistant, do not give up, it took me about 9 months but was worth the effort

Refund given! - Persistence pays off!!

AUTHOR: Scammedbigtime - (United Kingdom)

POSTED: Thursday, August 28, 2008

Further to my report regarding the company "Nick Marks" / "Tafiti"in USA, I have persisted in my claim for return of my money and contacted many bodies in the US including

BBB - Better Business Bureau
Dept of commerce- State of Utah
Vice President - USA - at "The White House" ( Yes really!)
The FBI
National consumer league, Fraud center
Federal Trade Commission
ripoffreport.com

I think that the local chamber of Commerce were the first to rattle their cage, followed by the BBB, I had a phone call from their director of operations( who had refused my bank a refund previously). He offered me other deals, then a 90% refund but I refused - and he then offered a full refund, much to my surprise. My persistence of 10 months has paid off.

So if you are in a similar position, keep trying, explore all avenues, dont give up and dont take NO for an answer. Good luck

Contacting your credit card company

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 21, 2008

If you feel you have been defrauded, under regulation Z, you have the right to have the charges reversed. Contact your credit card company - let them know you have been defrauded. Insist they reverse the charges, cancel your current credit card and re-issue you a new card with a new number ---
