NME Magazines - National Magazine Exchange lied and forced me to continue paying Clearwater Florida

Hello everyone,This to the current employess, current customers, former employess and former customers and everyone in between.

I am a former employee of SDP. Im a good, ethical, very intelligent, humorous, knowledgable, and above all else, honest person. Im 20 years old and my life is just beginning. I got a job at SDP because i was in dire need of money and a car. I quit SDP in February of 2005 because i was run completely into the ground. This was my fault, not SDP's. I worked there for 10 months and I had 3 different Job titles while under there employment. I made excellent money.

I have more knowledge about this Company then most managers probably do. I knew who I had to, to get whatever information I desired about the company I worked for. Im gonna break down EACH AND EVERY level I am aware of. Im doing this in hopes that, perhaps, The whiners and the complainers about "SCAM SCAM SCAM" will shut their unknowing, unknowledgable mouths and the
disgruntled former employess who were terrible at their jobs, and those interested finding out more about SDP/NME will come to understand SDP more than they curently do.

**WARNING** This will be lengthy!!!!


First Level: SSA - Sales Service Associate.
This was the first job i did. Essentially we are the front lines of SDP for the purpose of entering all Valid and those over 18 into the Strike It Rich Sweepstakes IV contenst. THIS IS A LEGITIMATE SWEEPSTAKES. It is conducted every 2 years and is monitored by TWO firms to ensure everything about the information taking and maintaince of said information on ALL callers remains fair and legal. There is absolutly nothing illegal going on with this sweepstakes. NOW! some of you cry cry cry about not winning, but if you read what we send , OR simply ask the question,you will come to find that the odds are AT LEAST 1 in 50 million ( 1 in 50,000,000). The odds are against ALL callers, BUT someone WILL WIN. They DO NOT have to buy magazines or even have there information maintained with SDP. If they ask for NO CALL/NO MAIL then their information is no longer maintained, as it is VERY illegal to sell that information.Only names addresses and #'s are kept for contact info if that person wins.

The SSA job is fairly simple, straightforward, and is HEAVILY monitered. My former super was George Sailor. Hes a good man who did his job, he supervised and maintained and obtained the nessacary numbers. He was quite pushy at times, which i did not like, but like me, he was following orders from higher ups. WE ALL NEED TO MAKE A LIVING! SSA's are the bottom of this corporate barrel. They do nothing that can be even remotely considered illegal, as they only do the very simple aspects of selling magazines. THEY ARE NOT TRYING TO CON YOU. They simply follow directions!

Second Level: VER or Verification
Verifiers are the next tier up.This was my 3rd job, but i kinda went out of the SDP order, as it were.When the SSA offers the magazines, and when the customer seletcs TWO (2) they are sent to verification. Verifiers are a VERY different breed. SSA's are much less...pushy. Now keep in mind, all salespeople, i do mean ALL of them, are pushy up to a point. I wont lie about SDP, they want the pushiest of the pushy BUT they also want them to be ethical and resonable. NO ONE is ever told to sell a 4 year to an 87 year old woamn. THAT IS UP TO THEIR DISCRESTION! I myself gave 1 or 2 years and never went any higher, knowing they probably wouldnt get their moneys worth, as they would be dead. Thats just me. Now to the script we use. The script is VERY straightforward, but one must be paying ( no pun intended) FULL and ABSOLUTE attention to ALL details explained. This isnt like explaining Algebra 1 to a student, where u can skip a step here and there and get it right. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN, WE MUST EXPLAIN EVERYTHING. YOU JUST HAVE TO LISTEN! If you hear somthing you dont understand, we explain it until you do. If you dont like it, all you have to do is say im no longer interested, we will try lowering our package to somthing that may possibly suit you, if not, you are transfered OR you can simply hang up! They dont trick or con or do ANYTHING. You just have to listen to the entire agreement. Now, if you DO purchase magazines, you get,1,2,3,or 4 years of subscription length. Most people go for 3-4 years, as it DOES save you the most money. I have since forgotten the exact amount, but i do know that a 1.29 per week for up to 8 magazines is MUCH better than PCH or the Publishers themselves. Simply do the arithmatic. NOW, after agreeing to this purchase, we do what is known as a "RECORDED CONFIRMATION". This is so when those of you who decide you dont want to pay your bill try and back out, when we have the full convo on digital recording. Its for SDP's safety in other terms.
NOW at any time the customer can back out, even if the CC # has been given and enetered and processed. If the VER doesnt feel the customer is wanting to back out, they WILL proceed as normal. After you agree to the magazines on tape, we then offer "UPSELLS". These are 3rd party offers to which you can hear about, accept, decline OR recieve a number to get further information if u so choose. SDP currently runs Four (4) of these to my knowledge.If you decline, a small rebuttal is used, if you still decline, we proceed to end the call and confirm the sale. WE DO NOT HORNSWAGGLE YOU into buying ANYTHING WE OFFER. We simply ask that you LISTEN so that no problems can arise. All of these complainers are liars who have misrepresented SDP/NME with false and/or innaccurate information. Why try and ruin a Co.'s reputation for large amounts of sales and honest workermanship JUST BECAUSE YOU DIDNT HEAR OR LISTEN TO EVERYTHING. Im so tired of hearing these things. They are simply untrue. Now, Im not fond of SDP, but that is because im not fond of telesales or telemarketing in general. This does not mean they are a corrupt or BAD company. EVERY SINGLE CORPORATION in america has had its legal woes. Everyone of them has done SOMETHING illegal. However this does not make them unethical or illegal in the big picture. Things happen to all of us. NOW about cancellation. YOU CAN CANCEL UP TO SEVEN (7) DAYS AFTER RECIEIVING YOUR CONFIRMATION LETTER, WHICH YOU RECEIVE WITHIN A WEEK OF YOUR SALE. If you dont cancel within that time period you ARE stuck with the magazines AND the bill. How lenient should a company be folks. If you go to Wal-mart and buy, say...a sofa chair, and decide 4 months later you dont want it, can you take it back? OF COARSE NOT, that is not how capitalism works people! You love the USA and its capitalist ideals but when yet GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR you complain and gripe, etc etc etc. Its rather showing of the ridiculousness of this country and its people. Ignorance....appalling,and wide spread ignorance. You get what you pay for folks, plain and simple. People think you can just cancel somthing after paying for it without there being consequences. GROW UP!

Now, the 2nd level i was gonna tell you about is ONESWITCH, but that is no longer a subsection of SDP...it was apparently removed for lack of calls, lack of sales, etc. So that isnt important now.

I want to say to all who feel this company screwed them. THEY DIDNT. You screwed yourself by NOT listening, and by being RUDE after it all went down. What do all disgruntled customers say to the people who try to HELP them, F**K YOU!!!!!
Why? if you want the charge removed, be polite, be calm, be civil about it. OR SIMPLY dont agree to somthing you either dont have the money for OR didnt listen well enough to, to understand how the package works. Your ignorance overshines your lack of intelligence as consumers. IM NOT CALLING YOU STUPID, but im trying to make all of you who have griped to understand what a VERBAL BINDING AGREEMENT IS! Its a Working, Living, Fully and Completely Legal Contract! AND once youre in, you must go through with it.


Now I dont know much about how the FREE GIFTS work. But I do know in order to recieve them, you MUST have paid your first payment AND when you recieve your confirmation letter YOU MUST FILL OUT THE BOTTOM AND RETURN IT TO THE MAILING ADDRESS ON THE ORIGINAL MAIL PIECE! Most people DO NOT do that, and then they complain, even though they were told EXPLICITLY to return said mailpiece.

Im not trying to be difficult or misunderstand the customers with the problems, but none of you understand the process because none of you listen, you always default to SCAM SCAM SCAM instead of thinking logically about the situation and acting like adults instead of schoolchildren in a lunchroom fight. Im only 20, but I understand this type of stuff a great deal.

PEOPLE DONT AGREE TO SOMTHING IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND IT OR DONT HAVE THE MONEY FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


I hope this clears up some things for everyone, ill post again if anyone has any questions, specific or general about SDP/NME. I didnt put ALL the info i know on this company, but most of that is stuff that really isnt important.
