I received a yellow postal service type card - the kind you get when delivery can't be made. As someone who spent the parts of 1960s and 70s working with the Postal Inspection Service, I knew this was some kind of scam. I looked this business up online and found they were indeed involved in what we termed a criminal enterprise and have been and still are being investigated by numerous law enforcement agencies all over the USA.

Several of the postings that I found at this website disturbed me in that persons were being billed, threatened and had negative credit reports filed against them when they did no business dealings whatsoever with NME.

So, I am taking the initiative here to ward off this happening to me, as I seem to be on their mailing list and just don't trust them at all.

I have not called them nor will I call them for any purpose and if I get billed, threatened or harassed in any manner by these thieves, I will have this dated report to use as evidence.

Oh Liz, Get Real! The 'management' threatened me when I refused to give the required three rebuttals during a call.

AUTHOR: Marc - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, December 05, 2005

Oh Liz, get real! The complaints are stemming from those who are talked into buying magazines that they don't need, not to regular purchasers. I worked for these losers for 5 months earlier this year and I can tell you, I pestered and strong-armed elderly, mentally deficient, and young callers half to death! The 'management' threatened me when I refused to give the required three rebuttals during a call. I was mercifully fired for not adhering to protocol (which I am forever greatful). Now, I drive past the building on my way to a legitimate job. It is sad to see the parking lot still full of local scamsters preying on the most vulnerable members of our society. I have a stack of cassette tapes full of phone calls that I conducted during my tenure at S.D.P., they serve as a reminder to stay focused on my goal of becoming the best school teacher I can be. I have nothing but hate and contempt in my heart for what those people are doing to our seniors. They have no shame. Trainers, like Tracy, will continue to produce new generations of company pawns to do the company's dirty work. I hope they sleep well at night, as I do, dreaming of making the world a better place. To my former managers and team leaders, my success will be my revenge.

How would you be billed?

AUTHOR: Liz - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, September 22, 2005

The only way that you (and all the others that are voicing their complaints) would be billed is to:

1. Give your credit card number.
2. Give your expiration date.
3. Voice a clear "Yes!" on recording.

No customer is billed without their authorization (which they give by providing the 3 previous items). Each customer is clearly informed of what they will be recieiving, including the cost, terms of service, etc.

If you're that troubled by the article of mail I would suggest you do 1 of 2 things:

1. Call NME, using the Customer Service number and request to be placed on the "Do not Call/Mail" list. You will no longer recieve any solicitations from us.
2. Call NME using the sweepstakes entry number. Enter into the legitimate $1,000,000 sweepstakes (It IS a chance to win $1,000,000 afterall) and simply decline their offer to sell you magazines, which they will do.

-----

Yes, they sell magazines. And the magazines are sold at an INCREDIBLE rate. If you don't read magazine's, perhaps this isn't quite a deal.

But anyone who reads magazine's on a even semi regular basis has noticed the ever increasing price of magazines, ranging anywhere from $2 per issue to $7, or even $9.

Personally I picked up about 6-7 magazine's a month, which didn't sem like much since I was just tacking them onto the end of my grocery bill. But when I did the math... around $30 a MONTH at the publishers price. Not to mention the newstand price! Instead they offer you a rate of just over $5 a month for the same number of magazines.
