In the sping of 2004 my wife and I began looking to move into a new house. We had just become engaged and we had a baby on the way, so we wanted to get a better place for our family. We were unable to get a house at the time because my credit was not good enough and my wife was a full time student with no job, so her credit was useless.

I made contact with a woman named Sue Hansen from AHEP/Nordic Properties and she said that the model that I was interested in was going for about 1211.00/mt. I had never paid that much for a place in my life so I was a reluctant but as I making close to 5000 a month with the army, and there was really nothing else in our area, we took the condo. Now, we have what is called the equity lease. This means that all financing is done in house by the association. This was good for us as it allowed us to own a home without having to bother with conventional banks. It should be noted that we DID sign a PURCHASE agreement. We DID have a mortgage with a term and an interest rate.

So, we moved in May 1, 2004. Our condos were barely built when we moved in and our unit was brand new when we moved in. We had been told that the sod would be down soon and that was when our screens would be put in. We said ok and began to enjoy our new home. Well the sod did not get put down for about two months after we moved in. As a result dirt blew into our house constantly and got everywhere. That was the beginning of our issues.

Now, in July of 2004 the army had a MAJOR pay issue and alot servicemen did not get paid, me included. I struggled to make the once easy payments. I was late a few times but we got it back to them. I was then deactivated and returned to regular reserve status as of Sept. 2004. This presented major problems with money and we did not pay for about 3 months. We did not hear a peep from noridic properties.

When my tax return came I paid the balance back. Imagine my surprise when in May of this year I get an eviction notice along with two of my neighbors. Nordic said that we were behind on payments and we had failed to vacate. When I called them, first, they had NO idea where my financial documents were. Also, they said the letter was null and void as long I had called them. We were told that everything was fine.

We did withhold payment for a few months because NOTHING was done with our condo. We have no gutters, our furnace leaks through the wall on the rug. There are cracks in ceilings, there is a crack in our garage and the garage leaks every time it rains. They have not leveled off the driveway to our garage from the road so there is a six inch rise from the road into our garage. As a result our cars have taken a good whipping to the supension and alignment. We call nordic and nothing is done. We pay all these association dues and NOTHING gets done. Our lawn looks horrible all the trees are dead. We were told that we have a resident manager HA! I havn't seen one.

Despite all this we were just going to settle our bill and move. BUT NOOO! nordic serves us a summons and takes us court. When we get there the judge won't even let us speak or show our evidence. So we lose and have to be out in seven days, we are actually suing the court. The only reason that we are suing is because nordic properties says that we owe them 8000 dollars and we don't. They can't accurately come up with our account balance but yet maintain that we owe them money. Our is house is a 1211.00 leaking, cracking, lumpy mess. It's funny that we didn't get foreclosed on although we signed paperwork saying that we owned it. We got evicted for RENT Further evidence of this is that we can now secure our own financing.
