My employer was denied service by North American Bancard after receiving credit card services for 10 years through them. In the email from NAB, it was stated that they prohibit doing business with firearms sales, even after 10 years of providing a service to the same. They will however offer a HIGHER interest sister company up to provide the same service. This is an obvious case of discrimination for providing a service protected by the 2nd amendment of the constituion. This is no different than the recent controversey regarding denying service to gays and lesbians for the orientation. This is an outrage and un American.

You seem a bit confused...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, March 25, 2016

You seem a bit confused as to a few things including your "rights".

Yes, the 2nd amendment states that a person is allowed to "keep and bear arms".  But that has to do with the GOVERNMENT removing peoples "right" to have guns.  I am not going to get into that entire argument because you are not a government agency.  It does not require a company to sell guns, nor does it require a credit card company or bank to allow guns to be sold through their systems.  If that was the case then where are the lawsuits by the gun manufactures against the major chain toy stores for not selling guns?  After all based on your logic it would be the "right" of the gun manufactures to be able to sell their guns and a toy store can't discriminate against them.  Oh and not that is not as far fetched as you may think, after all think back to all the lawsuits you have heard and make you scratch your head and say "WTH".

But that not withstanding, the letter informing you that they are closing your account does not state anything about it being closed specifically because they prohibit doing business with a firearms company.  The only thing it states is that they did a review of your account and evaluated elements "such as the type of services rendered and sales pattern".

Perhaps it was this "sales pattern".  Perhaps it included things such as one or more charge-backs.  Perhaps the type of card(s) being used are ones they see more fraud with.  I don't know if you do Internet or "Brick and Mortar" but perhas it is because you didn't upgrade to the new terminals with the "Chip" technology.  They also used the words "such as", so it could be something totally different, "such as" things like you are having credit issues that are being reported through other means.  Or Perhaps it was one of 100 different "risks" that they saw that caused this, who knows by me even mentioning a few of these things may have clued you into what it actually was.

By the way if you go back to the original documentation you signed you will find that they actually do have the right to close your account out for any reason, and that they do not have to give you a specific reason.  Just be glad that they apparently gave you some notice.
