In December 2007, I signed a Binding Agreement with North American Van Lines and their agent Beltmann Group, Inc., to move my furniture from Atlanta, GA to Scottsdale, AZ. Several days before the actual move, the salesman raised the price and asked me to sign a new agreement. Since I signed a Binding Estimate, which was Guaranteed Not to Exceed the quote, I told him that we had an agreement and he needed to honor it. He later complied.

On January 7, 2008, the truck arrived late and the driver and three helpers started loading my goods. One of the first items out the door was a desktop computer packed by my son and me in its original carton. The driver had the nerve to go into my refrigerator and asked for food. The crew was sloppy and reckless. They used vulgar language around by neighbors and I had to ask them to clean up their mess. When they delivered the load, my desktop computer was missing. There was damage to several pieces of my furniture. Boxes that had been taped were opened without my permission.

Recently, I received the claim settlement showing I have been denied any payment for the computer. The company statement that all items were checked off is NOT true! Both my inventory and check off sheets show the item listed as #260 sm ctn as not checked off. The driver coerced me into signing the sheet claiming he started his count on the wrong number. He then proceeded to harass me about payment and even mentioned loading everything back on the truck. My son will vouch for the existence of the computer and that it was an item to be moved. I was not given the necessary time to examine every item and thus had to rely on the driver's assurance that everything was accounted for.

This is the same person who told me not once, but twice, not to report damage and missing items to corporate because it would go against his record. Plus, I'm now having to protect myself from being a victim of id theft. Please avoid this company at all costs!
