This agency collects for Publishers Clearing House. I sent a check which was cashed on June 16, 2017. I reaceived another collection letter on July 17, 2017 for the same amount. When I call the number, it is an automated system and no person gets on the line so I can not speak to someone and tell them how upset I am. I am so sure that many people pay them more than once because they are afraid of collection agencies. It is impossible to get a real person even during their business hours. They scare older people and they can get paid a number of times for the same thing. They are a criminal agency and I will contact the Melville Police Dept and file a complaint against them.

Report them to the FTC and CFPB

If I were in your shoes, I would report the collections agency to the FTC and the CFPB. Collecting on paid debt has to be a violation somewhere. I'm sure one or both of those agencies can give you further guidence.
