This company which represents itself as a collection agency has been billing me for several months now for a subscription to "The New York Post" newspaper? which I have never subscribed to. I have written several letters to the New York Post regarding this matter and never received a reply or a bill from them for this suspossed subscription. From the amount of compalints that you have about this agency I gather it is some type of scam and should be shut down.

Writing to the New York Post will probably do nothing

AUTHOR: Don - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 07, 2007

First scenario is that this account has been sold to the collection agency. If this has happened, writing to the newspaper directly does nothing as they have sold the account to the agency and have no records what so ever.

Second scenario would be that the collection agency does the collection work for the New Rok post. In this case, the newspaper probably just forwards the information to the agency.

Best way to handle this is to send a letter of dispute to the collection agency. That will force them to provide validation of the debt to you.
