The overhead gas heater was not working called Northeast Mechanical for service. Service manager Kevin Drew told us that we had cracks in the heater exchanger and that needed to be replaced $2800. we called to other contractors for quotes. both told us that there was nothing defective and did not needed replaced.We think they wanted to rip us off. will not call them again.

Both of the contractors have many years working in the field. They did see the soot and cleaned it out. But found no cracks.

We stand behind what we found. The Owner would not link up with us so that we could show him exactly what we found. The far right heat exchanger cell over the pilot was filled with black soot due to a disturbance in the burner flame from a crack in the heat exchanger. We would still like to show the owner exactly what we found and have not been allowed to.
