Yet another ex nic employee

I can vouch for everything these guys are saying . I worked for Nims or northern industrial mill services which is another of nic sister companys owned by Simon sachansky. There is no drug testing in any of there companys unless you go to the states. I witnessed someone doing drugs in the loader on my first day and let the Forman Tony valerio know about it. He told me there was nothing they could do about it because there loader operator position only payed 13$/h. All there jobs are about 10$/h under industry standards .
I worked for them for 2 years and the only thanks I got was them not giving me my last cheque when I left .
They rip off there employees as well as there customers . Norther industrial mill service only has 1 customer and there name is alta steel . Currently being sold too steel one , they are based out of Edmonton . I was told more then once to over charge alta steel because I was going to leave if I didn't get more money and nic does not give raises unless you can swindle money out of there customers, I should also point out the lead of there safety department nick was caught and arrested for stealing millions at his last job .
I would also like to point out they don't pay any of there bills . The mechanic told me he had to rob an old fan belt off a broke down truck they had and run it 7 hours too the driver because no one will give nic a fan belt on credit anymore . I took alot of videos and sound recording on my phone while I was there too back up anything Im saying now . Nims is actually going to be going out of busyness soon , all there good employees left and alta steel has been giving there contracts to other companys because they know they are being over charged , possibly because I gave alta steel bosses proof as I left on my last day.

the so called safety department is a joke at NIC the employee they talk about having a failed immigration attempt WAS due to there BREACH of contract not a failed attempt don't be fooled by there 50 so called years or there other spin the person they wrongfully fired without cause or warning they have no drug testing program in place and drivers are NOT tested at the start of there employment

as an ex employee

As a recent ex employee, I can confirm that most drivers are not drug tested. In my experience only driver's entering the U.S are drug tested, once a year. Also, I strongly discourage any person from accepting a position with this company. Management could care less about any one of their employees and like to toss the blame around until someone finally has had enough. NIC is a revolving door of employees. I have worked there on more than one occasion and each time I returned I only knew two people. For a company of over one hundred, those are terrible odds. I can't vouche for their equipment being all to safe either.

NIC does in fact test all employees for substance abuse both at time of hire and randomly. NIC has operated for over 50 years and has worked hard to build our reputation as a safe international carrier. It's unfortunate that one previous employee has this to say about us, we had nothing to do with his failed immigration attempt.
