Three years ago I co signed an auto loan for my daughter. Having made 35 payments on time, and only finding out about the missing last payment when she called to inquire about her title. The credit union made a negative deposit in my  and her credit file. I understand that she was legitimately late with her last payment. She was out of the country.

My bone of contention is why the CU wouldn't contact me as the co-signer to inform me about the payment in arrears.
In 35 years I have never been late on any payment,  and because this Poor Excuse for a credit union couldn't notify me.  Bull Crap,
They screwed up when they failed to notify me of the delinquency. All they needed to do is have common courtesy and notify me as Co-signer.

Find a credit union that has the common courtesy of notifying its members of any problems with an account. Don't shoot first and then aim.

After numerous calls all I got was the runaround. Everyone screened the calls when asking for supervisors. They were no help.

Art Powell from the credit department was particularly abrasive and un-professional.
