Yet again me and my husband have been given lies in order to get us to purchase a business's so-called great membership plan and then given a run-around by northern tool's customer service.

We called to order jack stands and a floor jack. Cory extension 8019 at northern tool said if we purchased the membership plan it would benefit us in multiple ways such as discounts on purchase price, free shipping on future orders, and will receive special coupons that only northern tool members get.

As usual with today's business's, you HAVE TO DRILL THEM on EVERY little detail to see where they're purposely hiding details and so we began asking question in order to verify what Cory said we will get and to verify we will get them in the way which he described.

1) We specifically asked if this membership applies to both online and catalog purchases, and he said "yes it does."

2) We asked, so if we would just purchase the jack stands now, we can then get free shipping on our next order being the floor jack? He said hold on. Let me check on that for you. He then came back on the phone and said "yes, you will not be charged shipping on it."

3) We said come on! This is for real? So there's no catches, no loopholes, no special conditions on shipping costs, we're not going to be told one thing on the phone and then get the bill to see another thing on it? He said "no worries... this legit and northern tool offers this promotion to show it's appreciation to it's customers" 

Well not one thing Cory told us was true... membership discounts DOES NOT apply to online products and free shipping only applies to items that weigh under 50lb. If the item weighs more, northern tool will charge you addition costs for each lb over.

So why didn't they tell us this from the beginning? Northern Tool's workers are paid commission. Commission means that each worker can make more money for each item they get you to buy thus commission is actually more incentive for a company's workers to to hand you a bunch of bs in order to make a sale.

You or northern tool say this isn't true? We now have the phone recordings of our conversations with not one BUT SEVERAL northern tool employees who ARE CLEARLY ADMITTING how they appreciate us calling them through their extension so they get credit for the sale and 1 of the employees is actually saying "commission for the sale"!

Now let's move on... Cory said "the floor jack is on sale for 99.99 and I will apply the free shipping. Ok your total comes to 120.00. Do you want me to go ahead and place the order?" I immediately said NO...if the jack costs 99.99 and there's free shipping on it, then where did the other 20.00 come from? This is how STUPID Cory is because he replied saying "well there is tax on our items" So I said your state charges 20% tax? He then thought for a few and then said " yeah hmmm...something doesn't seem right and so hold on I'll check to see what's happening" He then came back and said "because he had previous items in our shopping cart, the computer must of had a glitch. I got the total fixed now and so the total will be 110.00" I thought to myself that 10% tax seemed a little bit high but after all of the bs with this guy, we just wanteed to get the purchase to go through so we can get our floor jack so we can be able to do NECESSARY things like jack up our truck and change the tire.

Next day my husband get's the bill through his email and IMMEDIATELY we both were disgusted yet again to see that EVERYTHING CORY SAID WAS A LIE! The bill showed that we were given a 10.00 off membership discount of the purchase price and so making the jack not 99.99 but 89.99 We then IMMEDIATELY noticed that they charged us 51.49 for shipping and so making the total 141.48.

We called northern tool's customer service billing department where the customer service rep didn't seem to care right from the start and was constantly interupting us before we could even get the main situation described. She then got rude when I politely asked her to stop interupting us until we finish our point? She started explaining in a cry-baby attitude that the bill we received is not the actual bill and so we specifically asked why aren't we given the actual bill on the first time around for the order we just placed the previous day? She said that we won't receive the actual bill until the card was charged for the transaction. I said that doesn't answer the question...I specifically asked you why aren't we getting the actual bill the first time around. She got disgruntled and said I already told you that you won't get it until the card is charged. I then had to raise my voice a little to tell her that she IS NOT ansering my question... I want to know WHY you have it set up that way. She then pathetically replied "it's just the way we do things" I then raised my voice higher and said "see you're not listening... I specifically asked you WHY you do it that way and so far you have given me nothing but a run-around. You're replies which are not answers, will only make the customer have to beet around the bush and in the end you refuse to give a direct answer and if you don't know the answer, you haven't even tried to find the answer. Right in the middle of me saying all of this, I could hear her trying to over talk me and I said again "please quit interupting...both me and my wife are GENUINELY tired of you giving us a run-around, changing the point, interupting us, telling us to calm down even after we stayed completely calm for quite sometime and it wasn't until all of her rudeness, carelessness, and other poor attitudes that I started to raise my voice a little more each time she kept avoiding a direct question even though she KNEW EXACTLY what we wanted to know.

SO EXTREMELY POOR AND JUST FLAT OUT CARELESS CUSTOMER SERVICE WHENEVER THERE IS A PROBLEM BEING CAUSED ON THEIR END.
